very inspiring man, I've just bought my first direct drives after using pearl eliminator strap drives for years. I too am on my own road to 300bpm :)

I`m struggling a lot with my pearl eliminator - do you feel a big change after moving to Direct drives?
@thedjindrummer17217 ай бұрын
@@TheKoderius my direct drives will arrive next week, but I have played on a pair of direct drives very recently prior to ordering the demon drives. they are very noticeable in difference of feel and I could immediately tell that it's a feeling ill have to get used to. they seem to have more power with less physical output but I've been doing double strokes on my pearl eliminators for the past 3 years, so can confirm it's definitely doable.

my direct drives have now arrived and I've given them a go, I can now confirm that the feeling between DD's and other pedals (I've played chains an strap drives for years) is extremely different. way more so than I initially anticipated. they gonna take some serious getting used to.

Marthyn!

By no measure im a metal drummer now. There was a time when in school i did a bit of double bass drumming. Fast forward 2016 i had to stop for a 2 yrs and i forgot everything and had to re learn everything. For some reason I couldn’t get back. It took me 7 yrs just to be able to play simple stuff. I was so frustrated aa to how I couldn’t play the stuff i played while i was in school/highschool. But its all good it taught me not to quit when in struggle. Now finally it’s been a couple of months i feel good still not where i want to be but i finally feel home behind my kit which i did for 7 years. Thanks for the videos man. Learned a lot from you. Man you gave me so much confident which i had lost. Thanks man❤❤❤❤❤

Oh yeah I was very surprised when the spring on my DW4000 double kick broke, it lasted about 2 years of playing though, and then my dad bought some drum pedal spring that would've costed the same as an actual DW spring replacement, that broke in less than 2 months, so yeah probably looking into getting the right one now XD
@fernando_reaper_moreno7 ай бұрын
So, the spring geometry upgrade allows you to change the point at which the spring gets the most tension? When you preload the pedal, do you put the whole weight of your leg? How far should the beater be from the drum when you preload? 🤔

Currently on 260 bpm relativly clean. 270 is possible with swivel but my endurence sucks 😂 So i startet practise heel toe

Υοu can check the black Gibraltar springs if you have that kind of issues, are very soft and durable but you must choose the short version cause the long maybe isn't compatible with all pedals.Take care man!!

Have you ever seen a direct drive pedal break on someone?
@drumtechniqueacademy7 ай бұрын
The springs of a direct drive pedal? Yes...
@Dissentient017 ай бұрын
Ah, I run the Trick pedals. Never heard of the compression spring breaking.
@tambian897 ай бұрын
@@Dissentient01it basically won’t, those are automotive springs and the Trick pedal pushes against the spring as it’s meant to move (rather than pulling it down like most other pedals) . Trick also has great customer service, they’ve always taken care of me whenever I’ve had a problem with my pedal

@@tambian89 Good to know. I been using the Trick Dominators for years now.
