Honestly no idea, I tried looking up rules for the all valley karate tournament on Reddit and there was no consistent ruleset that come through haha

He kicked Robby's arm and likely didn't have the priority of attack, which doesn't make sense in karate but could in showmanship: Robby is the one that got the takedown since Hawk's hold broke when he hit the ground, so it's like a slam and got the finishing blow interrupted while at the end it's hawk that got him down. They are byzantine rules plus the ref is bought by Silver to give advantage to cobra kai

To try and keep the 'traditional' air they try to keep it as austere and modest as possible (back in the day anyway). Any unnecessary celebrating or showboating would be a DQ. Not sure what it'sike these days because I compete in Muay Thai and BJJ now and you can do what you like haha

None of it is in our universe for sure but when watching these I try to get into the universe of the show or movie and play by their rules. If you start comparing everything to real life then the vast majority of all fight scenes start to fall apart and lose their entertainment factor

These martial arts showed are based on Tang-Soo-Do and Goju Ryu. Kyokushin is not the only well adaptable karate; all styles of Okinawa karate can be applied properly if they are taught that way.

Do you like Hawk? 'Cause everything hawk did was purposefully hurtful...Robby was a misguided kid season 1 who had no positive parental figures and in season 2 was literally a kid living alone eating cereal dust with water. He ACCIDENTALLY knocked Miguel over the rail. It wasnt done maliciously. The only purposefully harmful thing Robby did (and it was literally hair not breaking someone's bone) was cutting hawks hair. Even Miguel morally has done more purposefully wrong than Robby. (Pushing Robby without even knowing him or the situation s1, pulling his injured arm in the middle of the match at the tournament, kissed Robby's gf, cheated on Tory, attacked Robby when he again didnt know the whole situation and then taunted him about Sam and the lowest blow was taunting Robby about his lack of relationship with his father.) And you think Robby is the bad one?

@@norcan9879 1st of all the fact that he threw Miguel from the 2nd floor I get that he didn't mean the end result. Nevertheless he chose violence when he could have done differently. But he ran away from the crime scene which made it worse. As for the kiss I blame Sam. Rest of the things that's true but I have more examples as to why Robby is bad- When he came to visit Miyagi-Do he wanted to attack Miguel instead of begging for his forgiveness. He knew about the house fight from ahead of time and said or did nothing to stop it. He betrayed Miyagi-Do by selling secrets to the Cobras and train them. When he saw Miguel in the Drive-In scene he was boasting about his wrong doing. He went to John Kreese instead of his dad. Stole Daniel's car, ran away for weeks instead of taking it like a man. Heck he even resisted arrest. So yes Robby is the bad guy. Not that others didn't do anything wrong but I am extremely harsh on him. In season 5 I stopped hating but I don't like him and not wishing to like him ever.
