@@MarginalSC which is arguably the funniest part about his entire character... miyata punches him into insanity... ippo blasts his head back to being normal-ish(hes still punch drunk after the fight with ippo, i believe so its not a back to normal kind of thing)

One thing that I don't think they touched on in this fight (but they did in the episode leading up to it) was one of Miyata's biggest weaknesses: weight management. Miyata is actually naturally a lightweight, not a featherweight, and by a decent margin. Miyata's counter-centric style is mainly to make up for the fact that he doesn't have a lot of knockout power, and his brutal weight management cuts into his strength and stamina even more, which was ine of the reasons he goes down so hard & early. His father even admits to his other second that Miyata would be better off fighting as a lightweight so he can actually build some musle and stamina. Miyata's just too dead-set on fighting Ippo to go up from featherweight.

I love this! It showed how much Ichiro respects his dad and show that the hit-and-run style is to be respected. This match tugs on the emotions and Miyata showing the green glint of willpower proves his fighting spirit. Next up, we need Ippo’s debut match- Ippo vs Yusuke Oda: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z9GfncJpqqy3aIk.html

It's not beer bottle. It's for water. Anime timeline is in 19xxs, so it's not so common to use a plastic bottles in gym and in matches. Kamogawa flashback was from right after WWII, so it's more like around 80s when we meet Ippo.

@@AngryJT author uses 19xx as a year in manga but I guess if Vorg was from Russia and not USSR than we could guess anything from 92 to 95 for beggining. Or Kamogawa would be too old for Takamura's shit.

@@verrufen2642 I've decided to hone White fang, currently in the process of trying to use Jolt in sparring without damaging my frens
@verrufen2642
@verrufen2642 2 жыл бұрын
@@goofy-___- how are you practicing the white fang? It's a left upper into an overhand right, is it not? The jolt is used by picking up your lead foot, allowing your entire bodyweight to fall into the punch. It can be used with the lead hand as well as the rear hand. Step straight forwards, not pushing yourself off the back leg but literally falling into place. Best to start with a long step forwards initially, though once you get the hang of the motion it becomes easy to vary the length of your step. Vertical fist gives the best result. It's a long punch, and the structure of the arm means that this will give you the most stability in the punch. Best timing for a jolt counter is either with the opponent's punch or after a back step. Left jolt while parrying their jab is highly effective. Right jolt over the top of the jab while sipping inside is hard to land, but devastating. Right jolt while slipping to the outside of their cross is tricky as hell to time, but theoretically pretty damn effective
@goofy-___-
@goofy-___- 2 жыл бұрын
@@verrufen2642 I parry way to much, and I do mma so overheads are allowed but I kinda have to pull them. but since im a right hand southpaw its as what you said but reversed lol. i kinda see the Jolt as sendo's lunge but instead of offensive its more defensive. I am working on the timing for Jolt though, seems like every time i try it I still get nicked. And about the White Fang, I usually set it up by ducking hooks or rolling punches, ducking is less reliable due to my height.
@verrufen2642
@verrufen2642 2 жыл бұрын
@@goofy-___- interesting! I've found the jolt to be pretty hard to consistently land against a South paw, but my sparring partner has over 5 years competition experience on me. I think look to Manuel Marquez's ko over Manny Pacquiao for inspiration on how to land the big left hand jolt counter. What's your weight class? Are you competing in amateurs?

You should check out this show. It is one of my favorite TV shows. It's the most high production martial arts TV show I've ever seen. Based on the writings of Bruce Lee. Produced by Shannon Lee and created by Jonathan Tropper, the same guy that created banshee. Some really good fight scenes and a few MMA stars appear here and there. The action starts in the first 5 minutes and the fights just get better as the show goes on. It's filming its 3rd season now. If you don't like subtitles don't worry they transition to English about 7-8 minutes in. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z8iga6-X1pvWhmQ.html
