I like how this is one of the big fights that they were hyping up, and these are two of the stronger people in the tournament, and it's probably the most down to Earth and realistic fight. There are no psychic hair whips, no transformation sequences, they aren't using their fingers like knives. The real good fighters are punching, kicking, and grappling
@Mushimiya
@Mushimiya 3 жыл бұрын
You talk about the transformations as if they are not realistic, but they actually are to *some extend*. Look up "hysterical strength". Of course they are set up to be extremely dramatic for entertainment purposes, but similar incidents have occured.
@andrewwestfall65
@andrewwestfall65 3 жыл бұрын
@@Mushimiya I'm aware of hysterical strength, and some people can manually control their heart rate to increase blood flow as well. They don't turn purple or explode with energy when they do that, and it isn't like hysterical strength is something you can just turn on
@Mushimiya
@Mushimiya 3 жыл бұрын
@@andrewwestfall65 as I said, it's overdramatized for entertainment purposes but definitely not unrealistic since it's a fight to the death. Turning purple and doing it at will is a bit much yes.

@@Mushimiya I mean, hair also exists but everything with how it's portrayed is unrealistic too. I would argue that the portrayal of each is about as accurate.

Most trash talk is usually just mental warfare. Musashi Miyamoto did that as a samurai, and hes known as one of the greatest samurai to have ever lived

I love to see someone recognize that. We often over emphasize the strength and skill he might have had. While it wasn't insignificant, the most important factor in his success was that he was strategically un conventional and willing to ignore tradition or even exploit it just to troll his opponents before a duel. An original "cerebral assassin".

I also love how an anime about cute girls working out at the gym is set in the same universe. Karla's mom is the teacher of this series, and the MC's friend's sister is the leader of the college that had that guy who was obsessed with Kengen's MC. I really like how they handled the boss character, he was talked up for a long time, then when he fights, while he won by what I think was a large margin, he doesn't feel unbeatable. He doesn't feel like some over powered god fighter, he feels like someone that spends every second of every day training. TBH I'm kind of rooting for that guy more than Tokita... Tokita has too much of a "I want it more, therefore I'm going to get it" feel. His fights feel like arguments that he's too stubborn to lose.

I disagree somewhat. Haven't seen a ton of the show but his fight against the finger grip guy and dirty tactic user played out fine. Tokita Ohma just seems to be a case of a crazy talent and potential with tons of ego and confidence to.
@typeouetco1626

it wasn't a large margin, Agito had to evolve twice and use his last resort at the time (his berserker mode), and spoiler. Not only did he not win the tournament, he didn't even reach the last round. Kengan's tournament was always set up in such a way that anyone can lose. which was first shown with rihito, who basically act as the main rival, losing in the first round. People were legit thinking that the Fang could lose here, and later, that Ohma could lose to Cosmo

It may seem weird that Naoya was knocked out with basically one punch, but he was in fact hit by the second move of a two punch combo and he did not see it because he was still dodging the first one. So he was hit with twice the power because he didn't defend againt the move and because he was already throwing his momentum againt it, as opposed to away from it. In the video game Tekken, there is a similar concept, where if you move into an attack, the amount of damage you'll take will be higher. The character of Paul has a 100% damage straight punch attack that can knock out an opponent in one blow but only if he can land it while his opponent is moving towards him.

The overhand right/double/single leg takedown mixup is a BIG move for strong wrestlers in the UFC. Khabib basically made his entire career off of having a strong overhand that he could use to feint into the takedown. The reasoning is because it LOOKS the same when you're throwing it as a double leg so it's a harder read to make in the moment. Street-fighting wrestlers you're welcome, you are now undefeated.

I haven't been in a fight for a long time (school yard stuff), the idea of being in a fight sounds interesting but I obviously want to not get hurt too badly (I still need to work and look after my family if someone really hurts me I can't do that) and if I'm done it'd be nice to say "OK I'm done I can't carry on" If I want to explore this, ie: learning how to be punched in the face and carrying on anyway, where do I start?

My suggestion for an older man such as yourself is to use a walking cane or staff, a simple wooden stick is great fir self dedense, especially so if you learn a bit of stick fighting. That moment when I like both and the CG actually adds that "heavyness" of the moves to it compared to purely 2d like Baki. Don't get me wrong I like Baki too but the fights in Kengan Anime feels much more impactful because CH

This was the best version of the fight I could find. Also, I watched the anime in Japanese and hearing the English voices was weird to me after getting used to the Japanese

⛹‍♂🚴‍♀8 👁🚴‍♀ 🕸 simple concept basic logic if life is not free why the hell would death be any cheaper it's not. So the question one may wonder is the spiritual cost to one's own soul and spirit for having lived and died to the lowest standards of quality for so many years now global pollution has diminished the quality of life to the point where today's people are living, dying and yielding the worst spiritual kickback that has ever been manifested since the beginning of life only getting worse. The polar opposite extreme to that is today's people should be living and dying to the highest standards of quality which would make each and every moment physically, mentally, financially and spiritually beneficial. Trash talking to me shows fear and lack of confidence in ones abilities. If you are not confident in your fighting technique you will try to use your words to gain an advantage. Realize though, in UFC they are literally paid to trash talk. The common public does not understand that trash talk shows weakness so they enjoy it thinking it show determination and strength when it is actually the opposite. The less wound up and calm your opponent is, the more trouble you are in.
