I notice he uses the same jokes sometimes so I think that a lot of the time he has clever stuff off the top of his head but he keeps things that work in mind for a back up. It's fascinating

There's an article (forget where) that talks about how much he preps for each of these appearances. It seems like it's off the top of his head, but most of it has been prepared months in advance. Still, he's amazing.

I had the joy of meeting him, Eugene Levy, and Catherine O'Hara when I was on the same boat as them once. It was maybe 30 minutes but I got to see that in real life, they are exactly the same hilarious, down to earth, laid back, energetic people. At one point Mr. Short was serenading everyone on the boat, it's a memory I'll cherish along time

I love both Martins, but you got it backwards. We don't need comedians to make people laugh again. We need every butthurt person in this PC country to either lighten up, or light up and shut up. If PCs had their way, then it's only a matter of time before they put comedians out of business. We'd be stuck with Peta, BLM, MeToos, annoying Republican Trumpets, Pro-lifers, strict nuns, Meghan McCain and Joy Behar, and robots. Do we really want that?

@@harryw6154 I think the authorities even reopened an investigation into the drowning years later, after the boat's captain changed his account of the night's events. I guess nobody wanted to think Wagner actually was responsible in any way, but his story was/is super shady. If it had happened in current times, he might at least face a trial.

Martin Short is a Canadian's Comedian. I'm so glad that the rest of the world, especially Americans adore him as much. Wouldn't you love to be at that cottage. Watching Shitts Creek with 3vyr old daughter really endears me to Jimmy ska James And the fact the 3yr old knows the funniest Canadian actors endears me to her

@@nanamimi7385 Robert Wagner was married to the actress Natalie Wood. Natalie died in 1981 by falling off a boat she, Wagner, and Christopher Walken were staying on off Catalina Island. While the investigation by the police determined Wood's death was an accident, there have been rumors and conspiracy theories in the years since that Wagner cause Wood's death by pushing her during an argument.
