Leandro from Educated Barfly flew across country to make drinks with me, and we throw down martini's showing each-other our favorite formulations. Also we curse a lot it seems?

I'm visited today by my new best friend Leandro from Educated Barfly. He called me out in a video of his suggesting we hit up NYC and drop into a few of my favorite bars- sadly I was trapped in front of this camera all week and couldn't get out of my own bar- BUT he did drop by and we swap martini's. Not gonna lie, mine was good, but his was better.

One and a Half Dashes Grapefruit Bitters
.75 oz. or 22 ml. Cocchi Americano

1.5 oz. or 45 ml. Tanqueray Gin

Martini.... if i recall it was supposed to be a mix of gin and fortified vine(vermouth ), 1:3 ratio, + extras... But probably more famous if it was vodka martini.

Do a road trip with a bar on wheels, twenties style or something. Stop at random places and make cocktails for people who are passing by or have small fan meet ups along the way. Maybe stop at producers of spirits/juices/bar essentials or famous mixologists along the way and get some more sponsorships like that. Could be a several episode long road-trip/series. I'd watch the hell out of it.

That would be super illegal as there are varying liquor laws in various States and you need a license in each separate state to do that

If anyone could just pop up a bar where ever trust me there would be a hell of a lot of people doing backyard pop up bars all over the place. Unfortunately there's a reason this kind of thing doesn't happen

There could be a way around that. They wouldn´t have to sell the drinks for one, often that ist the thing that gets you into legal trouble. They´d of course have to double check. Also they could just tour cool bars of the area and do the respective signature drink of the bar / the region in the bar.

@@MaxSeidel1 that would require the bars actually being willing to let them do that inside the bar which that is possible but a lot of effort and Greg has a daughter I don't think he has time for that as for the pop-up bar whether you give the drinks away or sell them if you don't have a vending or liquor license in every various State you can't do it

Downing his martini with one gulp, Greg admits to himself that this was his only chance. "Well, it's now or never," he says mostly to himself. Greg puts down his glass and, taking advantage of his superior height and size, wraps his arms around the smaller Leandro and kisses him as only a strong man can kiss another one. Greg wraps his right arm around Leandro's waist, pressing their bodies together. With his left hand, he caresses Leandro's muscled bicep that he so admired moments earlier. Leandro, startled by the unexpected kiss, flails for a moment. His arms go limp. His Nick and Nora glass crashes to the floor. Then he returns the embrace and the kiss as if he were clinging to Greg for dear life. Greg thinks to himself, "I've been dreaming about this kiss ever since I asked this man to join me on my channel. This, this is why I asked him to come visit." Leandro, still bending backwards, held by Greg's powerful embrace, thinks to himself, "I crossed the country for this kiss. This is the only reason I came here. I don't even like...what were we drinking?"

When I was a kid, well before I ever had any alcohol, I saw an episode of Bewitched where Darren orders his martini 3 to 1. The gruff bartender replies, “I always make them 3 to 1.” To this day, for better or worse, I make my martinis based on a sitcom rerun I saw when I was 10 years old.

Well, this was a historic meeting of two of my favourite KZfaq bartenders and thank you so much for that! A lot of your fans and followers were really looking forward to that and you didn't disappoint! As much as I was taken by surprise by the event, I was extremely pleased to have watched (and followed!) Leandro's earlier video on exactly the style of drink they chose for this meeting: The Gin Martini! Imagine my joy and surprise to see this video later in the day, having made myself a classical 2:1 Gin Martini with an orange twist! Although my first experience with Martinis was rather unorthodox and exactly what Leandro chose to do here: (Leandro's slightly modified version of) Ian Fleming's James Bond Vesper Martini. "Three measures of Gordon's Gin, one measure of Vodka and half a measure of Kina Lillet.". You Americans use Cocchi Americano, I will use Lillet Blanc since I do have access. Cheers! :)

I will say, I've recently become a big fan of using Lillet Blanc instead of dry vermouth, (because it behaves so gorgeously with my beloved Hendricks),but now you've given me a great reason to try Cocchi.
