A schoolboy finds his story assignment ends up in the hands of a Hollywood movie producer who makes a film out of it. The boy heads over to Tinseltown to claim his rightful credit.
Switch this on for the kids on a dull Sunday afternoon and you're onto a winner. We love the scene where Jason visits Universal Pictures. Spot the props from our great films in the background. E.T... Back to the Future... Plenty of laughs and lots of fun.

If anything, Marty should at least split part of the costs with Jason. Then tell Mr. Shepard that he thought it would give him the details. The former should've at least some costs to his writers. Maybe offer them a portion of the revenue he uses for directing.

@@aphoticphoton the point was for the film to further vilify Marty. It would have been obvious that he or any other person say no to give the boy writing creds or a cut.

I know this movie is old, and is rare to have security cameras in an office back then, but if Wolf had security cameras in his office, he'd be in big trouble for causing the fire with his cigar because that's arson. The fact he offered jason a cigar when he's 14, he could've got in trouble with the law if it was caught on camera of wolf giving a cigar to a minor. marty wolf was power hungry but he wasn't very cautious either.
@dudetocartman
@dudetocartman 3 жыл бұрын
Well it is kinda like Arson. Arson has to do more with destruction of property like a house or car for money. In this case, since the paper is Jason's, I would call that minor arson. Marty wasn't even asking for anything, he was just burning the evidence. But yes, if there were cameras in his office, he would be in trouble for the intentional fire, stealing of property, destroying evidence, and attempting to give a minor a cigar.
@entropy8000
@entropy8000 2 жыл бұрын
As a minor he: messed with the wiring of his car which could have gotten him killed, broke into his house, put dye in his shampoos, tresspassed, stole his phone so his hands weren't clean in the end- he could have gone to juvie for all the things he did but its a cute movie
@quillmaurer6563
@quillmaurer6563 2 жыл бұрын
Of course the security cameras would have also caught him confessing to stealing the paper and refusing to return it to it's rightful owner or give the writer credit. That fraud would probably have been the bigger issue than setting his own office on fire.

2:25 That's true what Hollywood is all about, a dog eat dog town. When the security guards are escorting Jason off of Marty Wolfes studios, one of them sarcastically says that he wrote the Nutty Professor (1996) which featured Eddie Murphy as the titular character, Paul Giamatti (Marty Wolfe) starred with Eddie Murphy four years earlier in, Dr. Dolittle (1998) in which Murphys character talks to animals. Because word could get out, Wolf wouldn’t want anybody to know. As far as he knew, Jason could’ve given the number to anybody big in the media who’d kill to have a story like a Hollywood producer stealing a story from a teenager.
