Having the other Spider-Man randomly pop up and help out with random crimes is the best addition and soooo groundbreaking imo! This lays out the foundation for some interesting and exciting things in future games!

Insomniac has been too busy developing marvel games like wolverine, spiderman2. I think there is zero possibility that they would be into the prototype I used to enjoy that game a lot but I just don’t feel like playing that game again

This is a modernized REMAKE of prototype in spiderman theme. Look at all the traversal mech they are using , which is cross between incredible Hulk's and web of shadows swinging system which is what prototype's traversal system was about. And looking at Prototype's history , it was meant to be a sequel to Web of shadows with Carnage as the main villain before it became its own IP. Mercers Powers are copy of Carnage's blood power. So this game is basically copying from Web of shadows in all its manner without none of its cool recruitment mechanics.

I thought it was SUUUUPER obvious that Harry is gonna be Venom. Am I wrong? Harry literally was seen in a pod with the symbiote all around him, and it was shown again at the end of Miles Morales, as Norman tells a scientist to release him from the pod.

It's entirely possible that the symbiote escapes after Harry is released and attaches to someone else too.

Best part of the first game was the reveal that doc oc formed the sinister six. I knew who Otto was as soon as I saw him, but never thought he would become the villain so soon. All the trailers showed was Mr negative. So I can’t wait for the big plot twist in 2.

I like the buddy system thing! It’s been done before in one of the old assassins creed’s and I think the latest watchdogs did it also but not nearly as well as this. I’m sure there are others but They did an absolutely incredible job from what I see here and I too hope that studios take an example from this and try to better integrate the mechanics for people like myself who don’t really do superhero games much! Would love to see a new ghost recon that I could have allies randomly show up and do light recon and whatnot!

The biggest quality of life feature I'm excited for is actually boss health bars. In previous games, boss fights felt like a war of attrition because there wasn't that indicator of actual progress that you made against the enemy. Also I'm really hoping that the thing that truly ends up curing Harry is the goblin serum... but honestly, that's probably too much to expect. They'll probably save Green Goblin as the final big bad in a third game. I also hadn't considered that Venom might be Kraven. That'd be an interesting way to justify why Venom is so much bigger than Black Suit Spider-Man, seeing as normally Venoms size comes from how jacked Eddie Brock is.

I love the Venom is Kraven idea, and thought the same thing. Although, I think the reveal is a mis-direct. The big hulking Venom we saw in the trailer is the endgame boss and it is Kraven. The Venom we (hopefully) see through the game is someone else.

I'm definitely turning on every single option to make web swinging more challenging and stylish. There was something lacking with how PS4 Spider-Man's swinging felt. Honestly had a lot more fun with Web of Shadows in terms of how I could be precise there.

Agreed. I was hoping for more engaging traversal. Of course the current swinging feels great and is extremely polished. But it is also kinda braindead. Fall damage, increased speed, and increased control sounds fantastic.

I loved the insomniac Spider-Man but ANYTIME I ever criticized how the swinging was kinda too easy and I preferred the very artistic and specific style of the OG Spider-Man 2... I could do things in that game not possible in the newer one.

The Tinkerer being a high point bossfight-wise seems like it might be contentious. It was a decent fight but not nearly as memorable as Doc Ock. I think even the Rhino fights top the Tinkerer.

We can see that the symbiote doesn’t affect Peter’s morphology, so based on that, and based on how huge Venom looks, I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up being Kraven after all

7:23 Kraven’s not hunting Connors for Norman Osborn. He’s hunting Connors because he’s one of his targets for his great hunt just like both Spider-Men are. As well, there are plenty of new & returning villains that were revealed including Mysterio who was teased in one of the recent trailers & Mr. Negative who was shown in the story trailer. As well, Sandman is also rumored to be in it.

Bodytype wise, Venom = Kraven makes a lot of sense. In the comics, Eddie Brock was constantly working out with symbiote assistance in order to keep his beefcake figure.

Spider-man can jump, just like Mario. And when Spider-man rolls around he reminds me of Sonic. He can throw barrels, which is similar to a Donkey Kong mechanic. He also finds items, which is similar to Zelda

7:39 maybe spoilers if you haven’t beat the first game completely but Venom is gonna be Harry Osborn. At the end of the first game there’s a “post credit scene” where Norman is in his lab and he walks up to a tank holding venom and says “we’re gonna fix you son “ or something along those lines.

I am so grateful that they have the pre-load option available because I travel for my job and some hotels do not have good Wi-Fi so I am happy to have that option available.
