Honestly i always saw Alucard as Walter's White Whale. He is willing to Sacrifice everything just to prove he can kill a true vampire

I absolutely love Walter. He just absolutely sassy when he wants to be and showing undying loyalty to Hellsing, until the betrayal happened. I really hate how it happened and wanted him to live, even of it's just stuck in a younger form and missing a limb or something. It's a shame really, jealousy of Alucard really led him down that path. Brilliantly written. Also, no offense to whoever edited the audio but the words being cut short every other sentence is kind of off putting. And sometimes it feels like less than a second after that happens disrupts flow of the narrative. Just feels like a snappy start sort of thing. I notice in some other videos the outro can be abrupt too. 😅😅 Great video over all!! Can't wait to see the other Hellsing Characters!! 💪😎💕

Despite Alucard Being the best in the series for me, Walter is my fav and that is from how his style is and how he is presented aswell as his design, the fact he took on alucard toe to toe and even humbled him a bit is beyond impressive, what makes even better is that he reminds me alot of another fav charcter of mine that being Kokushbio from demon slayer who funny enough like walter was the second best slayer of demons but his pride and envy of someone being ahead of him, made him throw away his humanity like walter did and became the very thing he swore to destroy.

In Hellsing Ultimate Abridged it's because Walther wanted to get with Alucard (when he was in female form in the 1940s)

I don't think it is about him being "second best" as you put it but down to his loyalty to the organisation and Integra.He will do anything for that, even if it means betraying and fighting Alucard. His is loyalty without strings, but Alucards is not as he is bound, so no choice, whereas Walters' was a choice. The "betrayal" was not of the organisation, in his mind he never To hin he challanged Alucard, and even u=in the fight scene he accepted his loss without betraying anything of the Helsnig organisation.

Another view. Integra was only attacked because Walter was sent away to kill monsters. Walter had no choice but betray hellsing , the artificial vampiric transformation was very problematic without a powerful desire to drive the transformation, failure and Walter would become a ghoul. He is old, He has a heart problem that forced him to retire, he is also has the most knowledge of vampiric lore than anyone else so when he was captured by Millinium, it’s either death, turned into a ghoul or accept the transformation and become a vampire. And hate is the easiest desire to form. As a vampire, he just had to survive until the Major was dead so he could carry out the final task, destroy the method and secret of artificial vampires. The fight between him and Alacard was just to test his new loyalty, the Major’s plan to stop Alacard didn’t not require it. But it was a handy distraction that Alacard wouldn’t ignore. Kill a traitor? His bloodlust would have been near unstoppable, after all, that how he would have been caught centuries ago. When he was still human, betrayed by comrades… Alacard would have drank in London’s blood regardless.
