The album is What's Going On. The Vietnam War was raging and it was the first televised war. Also lots of student protests all over Europe, like in Paris in 1968. Hippie movement. First time the young didn't want to be like their parents, but wanted freedom to decide for themselves. The old industrialised world started dying, and the postmodern period began. Neoliberalism began. Etc. This albus catches the zeitgeist perfectly. All the concerns of the young: war, ecology, the future, black rights. I love this album. My mum played it a lot.

Sheesh thanks for that brother.. I had one legit dislike and two haters on another vid. Please think outside the 📦 that you might be in.. Their a whole 🌎out there. It’s like the example of the fetus in the womb being told “hey there’s a whole world out there (as mentioned doubly)” she”no no it’s just this!” ...finally the realization sets in..similar problem in adulthood regarding another ‘life’ past this phase as though in womb. I have no clue how to contact that with this as my mind is literally fried from doing this 20/7 So I excuse myself. Oh, their interpretation was that Mr. Marvin Gaye was being portrayed as though he was in hell.. He is bed in another video with fire all around him.. Literally describing circumstances within his world at the time and unfortunately presently.. It’s art it’s subjective and no everyone will like it. 🤷♂️😳😐

The Greatest Album...forget ALBUM, the Greatest COLLECTION of songs by an entertainer EVER!!! First heard it in college, over 50 years ago. And STILL hasn't been topped. Forget the music & the background singers. Forget the Fabulous James Jamerson on bass, doing whatever the hell he wants to. It's the lyrics of each individual song and how they flow from one to the other. The JAZZ Music. And THIS Song is the Greatest ever recorded.

Oh heck yeah! Visualizers are so cool! One of my favorite bands, Royal Coda, does these. This visualizer is perfect for the song. Musically, the relaxing tone pairs well with the calm and urgent message being articulated. “Some of us are aware / that it’s cool of us to care.” Best line! My favorite! I’m quoting him in my thesis! It’s a done deal
