Personally i always assumed the manual made it clear that "Link" was a Chosen One archetype character given he had zero trouble defeating the Moblins who were chasing after Impa who was searching for a young man with the Courage to banish Ganon from Hyrule and rescue Zelda from his grasp. By simply reading the manual i already had the impression that he was a legendary Hero destined to save Zelda as part of some god given destiny of which he was always meant to be a part of.

Could also be that Hyrule has a rule where she needs to marry in order to be coronated Queen.

@@TransformersBoss Except that the power/blood of the Goddess goes through the female members of the family. It doesn't make much sense to have the person who has the power to stop evil HAVE to be married to rule.

I'm personally under the impression that "Kingdom of Hyrule" is just what it's known as by the people in and around it, even if it doesn't have a reigning king and thus, by definition, can't be a kingdom. Constantly juggling between "Kingdom" and "Principality" based on whether it was her dad or Zelda herself running the show would just get confusing.

¿Didn't the Minish come "from the Sky" according to the Minish Cap prologue? With such a backstory and their role in the introduction of the Four Sword and the mysterious "Light Force" which are both implied to be of divine origin like the Triforce one would assume they would have an even larger understanding of what's been happening in the Zelda world to miss on the detail regarding Hylia incarnating herself into a mortal being. Hopefully Tears of the Kingdom will address this mystery during the course of the story.

Whether or not they were around to personally see everything, there’s a lot of Minish, and I don’t think they were shown to perfectly relay all information one might have, especially over generations. When history passes to legend, the details get muddled, and the end result may barely resemble historical fact.

I also have a theory, merging with yours to make more sense, that after the creation of the downfall timeline someone, maybe Zelda, used the ocarina to prevent this but only got just before Link pull the master sword so just made sure to save his live and following the idea it could be child Zelda, later being Sheik to guide him in his quest

I agree, Spirit Tracks was my 1st game, i actually named Link Toon Link because of Smash and Zelda was the best I had ever seen her, she's so cute and her reactions to shit was fun to look at. I loved her interactions with Link the most, they were like siblings, maybe more

Actually Hilda wasn't being manipulated she was fully on board with yuga's plan he just turned on her at the last moment to seize the kingdom for himself in fact I think it was Hilda who came up with the plan to steal the Tri force for her kingdom

While it does sound cool on paper it also makes the timeline even more convoluted than ever before by opening the question as to how many "future messages" have been sent from future Zeldas to their predecessors creating an endless amounts of timesplits across different games leading to an *infinity* of timesplits of which we know nothing about. If this ever everr to become true that would make The Legend of Zelda the most convoluted fictional universe in all of Human History.

Apparently this was part of the original plan for Skyward Sword, where you'd complete the game normally as Link, and then you could start a Second Quest that would have you play through the same story from Zelda's perspective. But there wasn't enough time or resources, so it had to be scrapped, but the remnants survived as a series of Zelda-centric cutscenes in the credits.

I've always said this but questioned how the Triforce also exists in the adult timeline at the same time as the child.

@@naeruslove3811 It's a divine relic which carries the very essences of the 3 omnipotent Goddesses who birthed the Zelda universe and left it in the mortal world both as a symbol of their might but also to keep the world in balance (as seen in A Link between Worlds). Due to it's transcendent nature as a relic of the 3 Goddeses it is able to exist in all 3 timeline at the same time. PS: this is also the reason why Twilight Princess Ganondorf gained the Triforce of Power due to his Ocarina of Time counterpart having gained it in the Adult Timeline.

@Naerus Love my head canon is it stays in it's place but knows who is worthy, so Adult timeline Link leaves, but can't travel with a piece of the triforce back to where the Triforce of Courage already is, so that piece stays in the Adult timeline, shattering to await the new hero in Wind Waker, then in the Child Timeline because Link is still the person who saved Hyrule, earnt the triforce of courage and should still hold it, the Child Era's Triforce of Courage is granted to him on his return, splitting that world's Triforce

My question is since Link is returned to the Temple of Time before he originally met Zelda, the door of time shouldn't be open yet. I'm sure Sacred magic can be responsible, but since Link isn't sealed away yet, is there another pre-timetl travel Link and Navi running around, ir are they vanished from existence wherever they are on their adventure and replaced by the new arrivals from the Adult Timeline?

@@darkangelpictures According to the ending of Ocarina of Time when Link returned to the past timeline he was still carrying the Triforce of Courage on the palm of his hand even though the Ganondorf of this new past timeline has yet entered the Sacred Realm. This combined with Ganondorf's "divine prank" in Twilight Princess proves that the 3 Triforce pieces transcend time and space.

That was my first Legend of Zelda game along with Majora's Mask. In fact I still have them both and my N64 and they all still work despite being almost 20 yrs old. My third Legend of Zelda game is Link's Awakening on Gameboy Color and that also still works.

I think some supplemental material states that Zant invaded right before she was set to have her coronation.

Old history turned to legends combined with the lack of recurrent events to justify the supernatural princesses to do their thing makes the succeeding kings of Hyrule clueless as to the true nature of their bloodline in turn denying their children's the chance to carry out their divine given roles. Mind you King Daphness is an exception among the kings for already knowing firsthand the danger Ganondorf posed leading him to show complete support of her daughter as she fled to the tall islands to keep the Royal Family's bloodline alive.

I bet Link can do it too if he managed to fully wield the power of the Triforce of Courage similar to how he did to become Wolf Link in Twilight Princess. If Zelda and Ganondorf are both able to do such a feat then it's definetly possible for Link to do it as well.

Phantom Zelda… makes me think of “Spirit” Zelda possessing Phantoms in Spirit Tracks, but I like a form parallel to that of Phantom Ganon 👍🏻

All the Zeldas are related because they possess the blood of Hylia, but the Links possess the “spirit” of the hero. If Link and Zelda had children together, that would merely continue Hylia’s bloodline. A future Link would come from a different family.

The Bloodline of the Goddess would end at this point, but the Spirit of the Hero will always remain, the curse will never be broken

@@Chris-gx1ei it could still break the curse, though. Demise curses the blood of the goddess AND the spirit of the hero all in one go. It could be possible that having half of his curse gone would break it, since he cursed them both at once rather separately. That does bring another question up that I’ve asked myself ever since SS came out: why in the world didn’t they just wish on the Triforce for the curse to be lifted? If it grants the wishes of those with a pure heart, theoretically it would be possible. It doesn’t make much sense that Demise’s curse is more powerful than the Triforce, because if he had that power, he wouldn’t need the Triforce in the first place lol

Unlikely considering Zelda's voice calling for his name in the darkness that was his recovery induced slumber. Zelda was indeed the one responsible for awakening Link as she has already done this before in at least one previous game (A Link to the Past) for Breath of the Wild to not follow the formula. It wouldn't surprise me if in Tears of the Kingdom Zelda was also the one to awake Link as the story kicksoff.

@@javiervasquez625Link waking up at the start of a game is something that most of the games do, but I think LTTP and BOTW are the only 2 that have Zelda wake him directly, both examples being done telepathically. SS Zelda also wakes Link at the start of the game, but indirectly, by sending her Loftwing to deliver a letter to him instead of walking him herself.

This, but I would say that as soon as the Child Timeline was created the Triforce pieces split and went to their most deserving hosts. Link kept the Courage piece in the Child timeline and would pass it on by blood (as opposed to reincarnation) unto the days of Twilight Princess. Child Zelda would of course be the most fit for the Wisdom piece, and regardless of when it awakened, it would be passed on by blood to future Zeldas. We already know what happens with the final piece, Ganondorf summons the Triforce of Power during the final death throes of his execution, and he is hurled into the "Dark World" by the sages until the events of Twilight Princess.

If Link stays in the future, there is no split at all. It's just one timeline at that point (except the downfall timeline) and the Wildwater timeline no longer exists.

I don't think folks would take kindly to another full on remake being charged full price when they can just port all versions that already exist if Nintendo wasn't weird about game preservation lately. Better graphics alone aren't enough to justify it on the developer's end either

@Musomania27 I mean, you're NOT wrong. But, OoT with an expanded world, BotW graphics... honestly people would eat it UP since it's a fan favorite. But, I'm looking forward to Tears; My theory is that the Malice lashed out and the Master Sword was destroyed before Fi could finish fully sealing Demise. It recognized Zelda's power and snagged her. AND, she dies. So, we have to travel BACK in time (again) to try and stop the sealing of Ganondorf, this preventing the concentration of Malice in the first place... Convoluted, yes. But, it's a Zelda game. What more can you really expect? 😆

@@talonnightstar In all honesty, I'm one of those that actually prefer how Zelda games were before botw, so expanding the world to that degree isn't appealing to me lol. And at least artstyle wise, the 3ds remakes of Ocarina and Majora are my favorite look in the series, so I've no desire to see that changed either. But don't let me stop you from your preferences. Also an interesting theory for sure. Wouldn't mind some more Fi involvement.
