kinda tricky because the player could choose 3 different backgrounds when they made Shepard. One of them is where Shepard grew as an orphan in like ghetto abandoned areas so I think it is very unlikely to meet Shepard's mom in the future games. However in ME3 Citadel dlcthe shepard could call their mom if they selected the spacer background where both their parents and shepard went into the alliance.

It seems like they originally wanted to make her appear in person instead of just on call. I guess they didn't wanna deal with making her appearance match all the possible custom Shepards.

Yes, of course, that's true. But morally speaking, I can't choose the Destruction ending just to keep Shepard alive. My Shepard busted her ass to save the Geth and end that conflict peacefully, while giving them new found individually. I just can't imagine she would then decide their lives were worth the sacrifice when there are other options to stop the Reapers. Not even for Garrus. I like the MEHEM (mod) ending. It makes my heart hurt less and lets me keep my fuzzy happy feelings about spending their lives together. But officially? I have to go Synthesis. I know a lot of possessive Garrus romancers get upset about the fact that he and Tali end up together if you don't romance him, but I personally find it comforting to believe that after Shepard is gone, the two of them would eventually end up together. I can't stand the idea of Garrus being alone after all of that. Especially when you consider that in any other ending, they never find a body and they will never know for certain what happened to Shepard. She's just gone.

Without MEHEM, I just head-canon "Control," except that Shepard's mind gets uploaded onto the Citadel info-net somewhere (which would be an intriguing bit of symmetry to the Geth and the rogue AI from ME1). Then, it's just a matter of finding him and downloading the consciousness to an EDI-like mobile platform. It's plausible, very Ghost in the Shell, as it were. Either that, or "Destroy," and the Starbrat was lying about killing the synthetics.

But the Destruction ending is the only one that makes actual sense. It was your goal throught the entire trilogy. Control is the path of the Elusive Man. Synthesis, of Saren. Both Indocrinated. Nope, Sorry Geth, Sorry EDI...I'm blowing them up! Otherwise I would just be falling for the same tricks others have. Plus; Indocrination theory is life.

Garrus's Dad didnt leave Mikly Way. He was on Palaven with his daughter when Reapers attacked.

Could have intended to leave on another Ark launch but that opportunity never happened. As mentioned, Papa Vakarian barely made it off Palaven in ME3. Guess the timing adds up for post ME2 as well, because Garrus says he speaks to his father at that point.

The good thing about ME is that in the end, every headcanon can technically be true :P In my head, we destroyed the reapers (but saved my homegirl EDI). Eventually they found a warm, tropical place like they wanted, adopted a bunch of loud obnoxious babies (strong and loud and opinionated just like mommy and papa), and lived a super long time

They also redesigned their bodies as well, which bugs me. In the original they look like a fast, powerful predator. In Andromeda, everything about the turians looks too long and clumsy.

The salarian has the same problems with their legs, too. Even the Krogan if you watch carefully. The centre of gravity is very strange so they keep on rocking when they move and the legs are bent far too much. Oh, even the Angaran. Well, there's a statement from some high-level Bioware guy (forgot which one) about that topic. Basically he said that with ME1-3 the were planning it as a trilogy from the beginning, including ME3 revolving around the reaper war and Shepard dying in the end. While with Andromeda they intended to make the new game a closed story but still a beginning for more, just this time planning it one game at a time. I still hope that Ryder and their crew will return as protagonists in future games

Garrus was born on Palaven, so his facial markings are not colonial. The Unification Wars were almost 3000 years ago at the time of the games, and over such a long time it's quite likely traditions have changed and people don't necessarily have their markings based on where they're from.

I suspected that after the unification war, the tats don't matter as much anymore and just become something of a tradition. It was important in the unification war to differentiate factions, but now it's just something the turians have in a sense that they're turian. Being barefaced is still a big no-no if I remember correctly. They never go into the markings beyond the unification war in the codex, so this is just speculation.

You just explained it yourself. Born elsewhere. Turian paint is more a declaration of honoring their history than (most often) a clan focus. The bigger difference now is between those with face paint and those without it (and even that isn't so often a huge difference).

As in there isn't a perfectly followed database of the lineage of colonies, but some (and presumably more traditionalist, which we can surmise Garrus' is) families can trace their history. Turian culture has their colonial history take second fiddle to their current unification, but some care more or less about that history. Some take it as personality markers, while some take it very seriously. You can imagine that two of a family could even have dispute about which colony their lineage was truly from, especially if there's a lot of complicating details. We can imagine that Turian society allows these face markings as a reminder of what they 'unified' against (for better or worse), but some ruinous future could risk following the old pattern again and having markings gains new relevance. Like with much of MEA, I also think Bioware 'ooped', but like with much of MEA, some lore master gave it some kind of clear because its just appropriate enough. The game is problematic, but it doesn't outright ignore the details.

Yeah this was a bit of a plot inconsistency. This could theoretically be between ME 1 and 2, since going paragon on Garrus convinces him to give C-sec another try (before he goes to Omega of course), but yeah.....they clearly wanted the cameo more than they wanted consistency.

They didn't animate the nose scrunches on male turians when they say words with an "L" sound in them, in the ME2 and ME3 their mandibles flared outwards whenever they say words with a "w" sound and more noticeable when there was a "th" sound (you can see in the ME2 femshep/garrus talk), and the eye sockets on turians in andromeda are bugged af, when they blink, the mesh on the model pops out like some kind of amateur animation job.

They always did this in mass effect games. Every recording of someone had a completely baron background. like the cameras only capture their face but nothing that's behind them. this has been that way in all previous mass effects that would actually show people in the hologram screens. ( I believe starting in ME2.)

The public story is that the Geth attacked the citadel. The only people that knew the truth about the attack around the time were Shepard, his crew, Cerberus and the council. The council just said it was the geth though and noone is gonna believe or a pro-human terrorist group. Hell I don't even think people even knew that it had a name let alone it was a reaper. So in other words everyone in the imitative thinks it was the Geth and Saren that attacked the citadel not Sovereign plus they have bigger things to worry about.
