I assume the large wasted space was largely for gameplay reasons, so the third person camera didn’t get stuck in the walls

Yeah, kind of like how all of the player ships in SWTOR have 15-20 foot ceilings.

Despite the limitations of the technology of the time and a probably rushed development cycle, I still find it inexcusable that there was no known bathroom aboard the SR-1 Normandy.

I always just assumed that there must have been another deck accessed via the elevator (but not modelled ingame) that housed all of these essential things. The thing that really bothered me was that the elevator seemed to be the ONLY way to access other decks, with no hatches or ladders to use in the event of power loss (until the SR-2 fixed it).

would you do a analysis on the Normandy SR2 i belive it would fix a lot of the problemxs you had and if you have a rule against doing the same ship twice it is a technically a entirely new ship

matter-anti-matter thrusters are also tetrawatt lasers, using these to do atmospheric flight would kill anything in a large radius wouldn't it.

No need for bathrooms when you can simply just shit and piss in the airlock blowing the whole mess out into space with a special nonstick floor to make sure there's no mess left behind

Questions for the sake of discussion (meaning, I don't want to start an outright argument): So, regardless of setting or context a massive ship is always preferable? Shouldn't the context the ship functions within dictate size? Do you still consider massive ships to be capable of being so-called 'hero ships'? A little context using the real world: I love battleships and battlecruisers, and utterly adore the Alaska class of large cruiser. But I readily admit that ships of such a scale as those are not ideal for all circumstances. There are times when you need corvettes, frigates, destroyers and the like. There are also times when those small ships are utterly awesome, a great example of this being Taffy-3 and the Battle off Samar.
