Hello! The first video of my Christmas in July series is demonstrating how to use the We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill Pen and a Silhouette digital cutting machine to mass produce beautiful foiled Christmas cards. This will be an easy card to mass produce and have ready to mail in December!

To be honest, I want it for the magnets more than the board. They will be perfect for holding down other material.I'm going to use an old mat to stick it down to so it will always be ready.

I REALLY Enjoy your videos. Thank you for your time! I think we craft Really Similarly... I grabbed it in July, from HSN. Just after purchasing the set to go with my cricut And snc. Lol. I am STILL after the magnetic mat... it's been sold out since I First saw it. Lol.

Great video as always. Glad you show when you do a boo-boo. Second, I have the larger foil (and the foil mat, which I love) but smaller pieces of foil seem to work just fine and saves foil. Third, if you have time to answer: I choose different line colors when I want different parts of the design to sketch. You use same color and select on the send screen. What do you see as the advantages of your method? TIA for any help.

Hello, Mel! Thanks for watching and commenting! About the line color thing - It is the only way I figured it out. I will have to check into the option to make each item a different colors. I guess I wanted to be really sure I only foiled the item I intended so that I didn't run out of foil...lol....

Hello, Carol, thanks for watching! The gold shiny mat is metallic and has long magnets that come with it. This kept both the cardstock and the foil in place while I ran it though the diecut machine with the Foil Quill heat pens. The heat pen transfers the special foil without adhesive, just heat. With really small pieces of foil, I used the Foil Quill sticky tape instead of magnets. If you mean the adhesive I used to put the card front on the base, it is a Scotch "ATG" tape gun. I hope this answers the question, if not let me know and I will try again.

How thick is this mat, I realize it's mm, but how much? Thanks

Hello, Eileen! The mat is less than 1 mm thick. Maybe half a millimeter. The magnetic strips that come with the mat are 1mm high and they are thicker than the mat. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

I found out, B4 I even got this mat (still sold out)... that, it Will work with the cricut maker, but, DO NOT USE the magnetic mat with ANY Scan n Cut, So Far... it interferes with the computer reading of the scan n cut... I don't have a Silhouette... but, think the option to use the magnetic mat is Awesome for use with the pens. I have noticed... transfers are Better with metal OR glass beneath the cardstock/fabric... than with any other mat beneath the project...

How import is to have magnet mat ? Because I order a kit but I didn't order the mat I should order the mat

Hi, Martha, thanks for watching! If you are getting the heat pens for a die cut machine, it is not necessary. For the Freestyle pens, the magnetic mat is very helpful. You can use them without it, but will need a smooth heat-resistant surface and washing tape to hold everything down.

If you turn your mat upside down when pulling the project off your project wont roll up like that. because your pulling the mat away from the project instead of the project away from the mat. You can cut on the magnetic mat as well. I've done it. They just suggest you don't because it can leave marks and you run the risk of not being able to foil correctly if you have cut marks in it.

@@stampjg I haven't cut on mine either !! Not sure I want to run the risk of leaving marks on it. :) but I've also seen people make one for under 10.00 !!

Hi, just wanted to mention cutting on the magnetic mat could damaged the blade and the cost of blades would not risk , I would just keep a designated mat with the magnetic mat.

That’s odd, I only had one ad in the beginning, and given the length of the (excellent) video, one ad was reasonable. I wonder why ad number is inconsistent ?

Hi, Carrie, thanks for watching! Based upon the feedback above, I checked my settings and all the clicks I had made trying to move an ad break were new ad breaks. I edited it correctly, so now there is 1 pre-roll ad and 1 ad inside the video. I also have one after the video ends. Thanks again for watching and leaving feedback!
