I have the deepest respect for you man, it’s not easy to tear down an engine all by yourself. You are very intelligent.

Very impressive mechanical skills you have Sir!

Hi Pete, I stripped my AD3.152 block down, honed out the cylinders and put the new liners using the dry ice method, they slid in really easy except the last one. I broke it! The press is best when you got one for sure.

Once the crank is damaged you got to disassemble whole thing to get it out. Crazy

My dad just bought another Massy 50. This one is gas
@cheaphomesteading5 жыл бұрын
That’s the same as mine. The gas engines great engine. They start great in cold weather. My 50 needs a starter rebuild once I get this tractor done I can start working on it.I need it working for winter. Thanks for watching man.

Does the front timing cover have to come off to get the power steering pump out?

Dang it Pete , that was awesome. How do you know which bolts go where when you put it back together?
@cheaphomesteading5 жыл бұрын
I try to put the bolts from certain areas in the engine together in a box. Sometimes you scratch your head to figure out which ones go where. Thanks for watching men

What happened to the engine? It seems to gather a lot of dusk before you started tearing it down.

Hi, looking to your vids as I may plan a complete AD 3 152 overhauling and I’m just check-ng whether it is a job I can do myself or not… I’d like to ask how did you take the clutch off? I see you did not put any bolts to hold the pressure plate but you just did not unscrew the bots all the way through… is my understanding correct? How did you manage to hold the pressure plate? Ciao from Italy
@cheaphomesteading5 жыл бұрын
To remove it I just unscrewed it evenly. When I reinstalled it I pulled in the presser plate with the 3 bolts and then I installed it on the flywheel. Have a great day and thanks for watching
@giemme44925 жыл бұрын
thank you the bolts you used on reinstalling were 1/4 " UNC thread, right?
@cheaphomesteading5 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly they are. The bolts are about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 long
@giemme44925 жыл бұрын
sorry Pete, is UNC or UNF thread?
@cheaphomesteading5 жыл бұрын
Mostly they were UNF

What actually failed Pete? Did she spin a bearing?
@cheaphomesteading5 жыл бұрын
It didn’t spin a bearing but it kind of looks like the nits just loosened off the rod cap. A machine shop near me sad that a few companies in that era had problems with rods. apparently that’s why they would loosen off. I don’t really understand why the rod would loosen it off maybe the Metal would compress. Nevertheless I change all the rods. Thanks for watching men
@vermontrockymeadowfarm81645 жыл бұрын
@@cheaphomesteading My guess would be the rod bolts stretched, causing the nuts to loosen.
