I love your phrase: let's fix this. No judgement of how it got that way, no outrage because it became that way. As well meaning as my mother was, she didn't know to use that phrase. I need to remember to use it in my own head when clutter encroaches.

I'm sorry - I'm in tears - my mom is 97 and has dementia. I can remember us laughing together and being silly. So many memories. Enjoy these times, there'll come a time when the memories are all you have.

Echoing everyone else who's commented on how awesome (and hilarious) you two are together. Most of my clothes are thrifted, and I 100% agree with Hailey on how the cheap price of clothes can sometimes make you think you like it more than you really do. I typically do a big closet declutter about once a year, and this video has given me just the motivation to do it today.

I totally forwarded this video to my 16-yr-old daughter. We recently went through her clothes. As an incentive I got her hot pink velvet hangers. 😝 I’m not a fan but she’s in love with them. Anyway, I had a good laugh at the “boobie” pads (that’s what me and my girls call them). We’d accumulated quite the collection. My husband thought it was weird we had so many shoulder pads. 🤣🤣🤣 It’s from all them sports bras. So many sports bras.

Today ended up being wash day , so I decided to move warm weather stuff to my closet and cool weather stuff to another closet. In the process, I found two pair of shorts that I didn't remember I had. I had been searching Amazon and almost bought two pair like them. Y'all inspired me!

My Mom and I would go through all of our clothes once a year in Spring. I still hold to this tradition, but I more do it at the end of summer and again at the end of winter. I do like to have new clothes though for each year.

Loved this video of you and your daughter's interaction in this decluttering video, my youngest daughter and I had our best memories doing her closet. I have been putting off my spring summer closet declutter and switch, going to make a pile to send to my now grown daughters in Florida since I live in Alabama . We are on a journey to declutter everything. Currently downsizing to be able to live in our van hubby is converting into a camper. We have even gotten rid of a LOT of things in our storage shed. So much freedom in not having to work 24/7 just to maintain what you own.

Love this! I’m in the midst of a declutter myself. I went through the winter stuff I had out this year and the summer stuff as I got it out, but there’s still tubs in storage I need to go through. It’s so satisfying… Also y’all are cutest!

Oh bless! Darling you are so lovely. Take things a day at a time, try not to leave things for ‘future you’ lol 😂 trust me she won’t appreciate it. I use a rule with my kids to have a ‘base wardrobe’ then any extras we have a one in one out rule. We also do weekly cleans & pick one thing to deep clean. Sometimes this is the closest being organised, sometimes it’s cleaning the windows. Great work!

Such perfect timing! I've been slowly decluttering our house over the past couple weeks. We live in a multigenerational household, so you can imagine the level of clutter we have all accumulated! This is such an energetic and fun video, that reminds me why we declutter- to find joy and freedom in our lives and not get stuck in judging ourselves or in the fear that makes us hang onto stuff.
