Sarion Bowers is the Head of Policy at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. She leads a team working on UK and international science policy, with a particular focus on genomics and genomic technologies. She has a particular interest in data protection and the ethical, legal and societal issues that arise from the use of genomics, including genome editing. Sarion established the policy team at the Sanger Institute in 2014 and the purpose of the team is to advocate for genomic science.
