One of his opponents was 0-0 but he'll count that as a win. Floyd has controversial wins also
@QuadirBrown-xt7iv Жыл бұрын
@@Grandmasterkiller yeah I admit Castillo 1 and Maidana 1 were very controversial but that's why he gave them a rematch. As a matter of fact I'll admit Floyd lost to Castillo and drew with Maidana. His actual record is 48-1-1, but it is what it is.
@marcusclarkson2657 Жыл бұрын
@@QuadirBrown-xt7ivno he did not draw with Maidana. Machine gun flurries that glanced, slap, and shove do not score. Dickpunching, knees, headbutts and BITING are not tools of a winning boxer. Not even Maidana was under the impression he won that fight.
@marcusclarkson2657 Жыл бұрын
@@Grandmasterkillerand if he had lost it would be counted as a loss, right? Can't have it both ways. Plus he had to be licensed, it was a sanctioned boxing match, it counts on the official record. Plus this person was a boxer first. So there's that

Never gets old watching the master work
@mikeyflaherty461611 ай бұрын
So many ppl say he’s got “no power” but I know a few great fighters have spoken about how deceptive his power really is. Not throwing level 10 punches but consistent 7-8’s coming clean and precise to your face for every round 1-12. Incredible accuracy. You can see the similar style to James Toney or BHop. Guys who would wear you down over the course of a long 12 round fight and once they have you in deep water drowned you for a late stoppage. Personally it’s my absolute favorite style fighter to watch! Love me some Hearns and Tyson but those round 10-12 KO’s take a very special individual to pull of , just my opinion of course ! ☝️
@tupples28634 ай бұрын
He fucked up his hand or something so he didn't fight as offensively as he used to
@mikeyflaherty46164 ай бұрын
@@tupples2863 I think the story Floyd tells is that his hands were brittle from day one. But as a younger fighter and fighting guys in his natural weight class he was still able to punch hard enough to go for the KO. Corrales and Gotti type performances! (He destroyed Gotti in Winning gloves which are considered the “pillows” of boxing). So I don’t think it was really his hands as much as him wanting to create longevity for himself by intentionally changing his style. He changed his style so he could still win (even against guys 20-30lbs heavier) IE Floyd VS Saul had Floyd at 146 on fight night and Canelo at 165. I know his hands were bad but I believe they always had been brittle. The transformation from Pretty Boy to Money was simply a longevity strategy and I think he pulled it off wonderfully. You could even see in the fights with Cotto and Mosley he could have gotten the KO late…. If he REALLY pushed for it. He already knew he had won ….. so just on to the next one! Great comment though ! I love watching boxers first and second half of their careers. It’s very interesting to see how they change and adapt. IE James Toney, Roberto Duran, Bernard Hopkins , Ray Leonard. All these legends changed styles quite drastically to make it that many years into such a brutal sport !

He actually does carry some decent power. It isn’t some big KO power or anything, but it is enough to have the other guy respect it. Unlike some fighters who are genuinely pillow fisted and can’t keep the aggressors off them because their power isn’t respected enough.
@mikeyflaherty4616Ай бұрын
@@jesuspernia8031 I definitely agree he had deceptive power meaning heavy handed enough he’s got your respect but being 2-3 divisions above his natural weight he was cracking guys cold by any means.

Couldn't stand Mayweather at one point praying someone corners him and lay him out until I realized what he was doing the entire time I was hating. Retired from the sport, no brain injuries etc. saying he's a legend just to have his mind grow dim over time left somewhere with a belt around a generation with zero respect for him because he threw his mental health away for spectacle and glory. He made his money fair and square and can enjoy it without having to pour it all into medical bills etc. I believe he's probably one of the smartest fighters to get in the ring.

Bro exactly. Once people understand what true boxing is (not a slugfest) they will realize that this man is a genius. Undefeated in 5 weight divisions beating 24 WORLD CHAMPIONS. He was hit hard like 4 times in 50 fights, most accurate puncher, landed on the highest % while making over a billion dollars is unbelievable and we probably won't see that happen ever again. How can anyone hate this man. Incredibly inspirational human being.
@TyCollage4 ай бұрын
@@jermainepaenga7948 Yup, the only thing I'll have to admit is, like say a Karate tournament, if you're watching a sport, you have to consider the sport, rules and the points needed to win. Sometimes....SOMETIMES lol, you just want to see a fight! But its just not worth it if the compensations so empty for the fighters in the end so I'm done supporting it.

@TyCollage Yeah, totally man I hear you. Everyone loves to see a KO for sure I agree but if you appreciate defensive as well this man was amazing to watch. 24 years with his health still in tact he saw the long term vision and didn't want to end up how most retired fighters do

I actually do boxing I’ve been doing boxing for 2 years now and I can tell you that it’s not easy to punch a heavy bag for an hour because it takes technical skill to hit the bag well. People say it’s easy because they never got one and the videos that u see or they see think it’s easy because they think it’s just hitting the bag but it’s not it’s way harder of what you think and that bag is also heavy.
