I'm not trying to criticize, I think it looks good I am just wondering if the ship lap should be staggered on the walls rather like laminate flooring is staggered so that the seems don't line up? I don't know I've never worked with ship lap it just made sense in my head.

The bathroom is small enough to not have any staggered seams. The bedrooms and great room shiplap are staggered.

Can I ask why you didn't use a hole saw to run the pipe around the wall like you did for the pex? Seems to me it could compromise the strength of the wall studs. Just asking, not judging

The pvc is just harder to fit through 1.75" holes in the studs so I just made the holes on the inside to make it easier. I would never do this with a load bearing wall. Also, the corner studs will be reinforced with 2x6's later for a surprise project in the wall. :)

Where is your insulation? Shouldn't you have a GFCI near that lavatory? Everything is looking great however.

Good questions. 🙂 The space next to the toilet will be taken up by a big and permanent installation to be announced later. So no room for an outlet there. Insulation… we are going to try going without insulation in the walls for a while and see how it works out 🙃 The idea is that the shiplap is super easy to take off and reinstall should we add insulation later 👍 Thanks for watching!

@@LittleMountainLife Sorry, but regarding the electrical outlet to the right side of your sink/lavatory is considered and required by code in my area. The NEC requires GFCIs on all exterior and bathroom receptacles (another term for outlets). GFCIs are also required on all receptacles serving kitchen countertops. In laundry rooms and utility rooms, GFCIs should be installed on outlets within six feet of sinks, washing machines, and water heaters. Good luck & be safe, Jeannette

@@LittleMountainLife I understand and have been in your shoes building our home and doing any work that the inspector would allow which was most everything. It's the greatest feeling of accomplishment when you actually finish 100%. You're getting close and I appreciate and enjoy the videos which are time consuming to edit and upload. Take care, Jeannette
