There is a Generac portable generator rated at 18,000 watts, but interestingly it does not have as high a startup wattage as this on.

Great video y'all. There's a DeWalt concrete anchor called a mini undercut. It's designed to only into the concrete 3/4". It comes with a stop bit to help ensure that.

I just built a bed this weekend with the wife. Just wanted to say thanks for the materials list and details. Like others mentioned i was able to complete it with 7 2x4x10s and i added a center brace on the long sides to help with bowing just in case. I did have to trim the 8 ft met sides by like 1/4” to get them to fit inside but everything went pretty smooth!

I am surprised there was no mention of the EPA restrictions on traditional types of pressure treatments for general home use in 2004. CCA and other treatments were very effective at penetrating deep into woods like Hem Fir and Southern Yellow Pine. The new products barely penetrate a 1/4 of an inch and use predominately copper compounds that can wreak havoc on galvanized fasteners and aluminum flashings. There are also many studies that show products like CCA are not really harmful to the environment. One thing for sure is, the huge waste of natural resources, man-hours, and equipment lost to the premature rot of crucial support structures is very harmful to the environment and our economy, also I would like to note that good quality tight grain lumber can rot pretty darn fast too if it is not properly treated. The topic makes for a good discussion and brings a little more awareness to the job of building with wood.

Oil base is the only way to go. All water base will eventually peal, causing a guy to have to strip the old finish. TWP is very similar. Good choice.

For me, this is the type of food I want to eat at a restaurant. Don’t get me wrong, I love innovation as much as anyone, from the next molecular technique to the newest foraged weed appearing on a tasting menu in the Nordics. But this is soul-satisfying food. Rich meats and fish, laborious sauces in pools instead of dots, and classical flavors. Pair it with a good wine (I’ve been really getting into Champagne lately as an incredibly versatile pairing wine as opposed to my Italian-heart stalwarts like Barolo, Amarone, or a Tuscan blend like Tignanello when one can find it) and you’re guaranteed a good time😉

Great Video. You make it look so easy. I currently have vertical wood rails so I'm going to take them out and put in the cable for a better view, so I will have to drill my posts already installed. On your recommendations both the 85' rolls and the 500' rolls say not suited for cable railings....is that just a "cya" on their part our is it an issue using that. You listed 3 different cables, which one did you use? Thanks!

Nice video. Glad to see you have the circuit panel stops on each panel. I live in FL and got a Generac 12,500 / 18,000 watt used for $750 years ago and have used it to power everything including AC, stove, water heater, and 2 fridges and freezers. However, since like yours I can 10 hours run time out of 16 gallons of gas I bought propane tanks and can feed this for approximately 3-4 days straight if needed. I did notice a slight loss of power though, like I cannot run AC, stove/oven, hot water and dryer at same time. So when needed I leave one or 2 of those items off. Love this over the Stand by models as they are move portable, versatile regarding fuels, hook up and usage, and last, much easier to do maintenance and repairs on.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. You did a good job.I am a licensed electrician in North Carolina where we get the hurricanes and planned outrages. About five years ago I purchased a gen 17500. I allso put a natural gas coversion kit on mine to make it duel fuel. I changed the service on my home for manual transfer. It has served me well. It powers my home and shop. It is very important to do the required maintenance on this to keep the unit in good shape. I have an exercise time that I run mine at the first of every month . The unit is loud but it has served me well. I researched the right amount of natural gas water colum to make this unit run efficiently and to size the second stage regulator. When Hurricane Fran came through in 1996 we were without power for two weeks. I said never again.

What about the THD? I have the same generator and am having anomalies with appliances acting up while on this generator. When i switch to another generator…anomalies are gone. When on utility power anomalies gone. When back on GP17500 anomalies come back. I called generac and an engineer told me the THD was near 30%!

Great video thank you. We bought the same model and I’m getting ready for install. How did you determine where exactly to stub the electrical? I want to be sure we position the lounge seat looking out to our view and your video really helped me see what I need to do. It also showed me the electrical connect appears to be at feet side of lounge seat. Very helpful. Back to my question: I was wondering where to have my electrical stub. Can the stub be under the hot tub so I don’t see it or it needs to be outside hot tub, right up next to tub exterior (I think that’s what you did, right?). Thx again for the great video. Enjoy!
