Great review as always, Jab. But you forgot one thing about the mace. Two of the flanges can be attached to be used as knives. It's a new feature from previous Barnatos'. And I think it's a pretty cool one personally.

Imagine the clear color version.

There’s another bend in the wrist a lot of people miss. The wrist will bend 90° outwards, just like the pose on the box or the pre release pic shows holding the mace on with the action base.

So Jabman, I noticed in the review that the back of the kit has 2 peg holes used to connect the backpack. Any chance the Striker pack adapters from the MG Build Strike kits fit onto the Barbartos?

I love all the greebles on this kit. many of the details are separate or overlapping parts, even when the two parts are the same color. it'll make painting a breeze.

Should I get this or the 1/100 barbatos Lupus Rex? cuz I want a barbatos kit to match my MG 00 QanT full saber.

Why'd you not show the blades that come of the head of the mace?

The one time I could've used a "check this" moment were on parts F 9 and 10 at the wrist. The slots on the wrist hardly match the male parts of F9 and F10. I think I have them on correctly, but if if I try to move anything pob the arm the bottom part(F10) falls off everytime. Anyone else have this issue? I really enjoy this kit but that part angered me, thew slots and pegs make no sense on the wrist.

I also knew that it was pretty obvious that with the 1/100 No Grade (Full Mechanics) release, Bandai intended to make an MG line up. It was even more obvious with the HiRM releases. Both of those seem like they were a test for the MG. Thank you for another great review. I definitely plan on picking up the MG ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos [Form 4]. I think it is pretty cool Bandai added those small knives gimmick on the Mace. The overall design & proportions look better on the MG. I do hope/expect to see the other variants soon. Bandai would be a fool not to make an mg ibo kit when its entire gimmick is the fact that its design is shared inner frame with different exteriors. Question is which gundam will come out next?

Is it ok for a 12 year old to build? I’m one and for some experience I built 2 hg’s and 1 mg with no struggle

As long as your careful it’s reallly not that bad to take apart once it’s built. Just go slow. No big deal.

The shoulders looks bulky and larger compare to the old 1/100 released years ago. I find the old non-MG Barbatos to be more accurate in looks just like in the anime.

Even though I'm not a fan of the barbie, but it everything about the kit seems to be pretty great. However I wonder how it'll pit against the mg f90 since that's been my favorite kit of 2019 so far.

gotta say....I hope Bandai retires these kinds of hands. the Switchable fingers always look bad and feel bad to use. I'd much more prefer to have something more akin to Real Grades where you have a few really well detailed sets of fix-pose hands.

Not a fan of The Barbatos, not a fan of IBO Designs in general or IBO as a whole. But the engineering on the kit is top notch with on of the best designed inner frames out there. I'd probably rank it at number one for 2019 despite the Alex being my personal favorite tho it pales in its engineering overall. Also... #NOTMYGUNDAM

The Mace is Awesome, the 300mm Smooth bore gun is a gappy mess, and the Katana is just unnecessary.
