Altair was an assassin above all , born into the order of assassins , killing was the thing he was known for , he was promoted to master assassin in his 20s because he was skilled and always finished the job , he did not have time for women or chasing his desires , he was a man of comittement and focus , and let's be honest he was an arrogant bastard in the begining but that's the beaty of hs character , being as skilled as him all of us will let that get into our head , imagine being in your 20s and having the nickname : the best assassin of his era

The OG. The one who started it all. The most legendary and skilful Assassin of them all. The ultimate blueprint of an Assassin. The one who Ezio himself looked up to his whole life. Altaïr ibn La-Ahad is the GOAT of the franchise.

For me the most impactful moment is altair's memory 5 being a stark contrast from memory 1 in revelation. In memory one he was a naive young man convinced that the brotherhood is the solution and has no regrets about his life with the touch of Al Mualim telling him he will find a way to regret his life as an assassin in time. In memory 5 we see an unnaturaly old altair who is likely one of the wisest people in his lifetime due to him outclipsing by far the average lifespan of 13th century levant He reflects on his youth and how foolish he was to believe being an assassin would help achieve peace, that he regrets being an assassin for so long despite the choice of living another life. That he hates the apple, it's secrets and his mental (and physical) dependance on it. But ending up on a lighter note that he doesn't regret his new purpose of finding the truth Altair purposefully made his library as his tomb with his story being a cautionary tale. Far more valuable than books

That box arr for AC 1 is one of my favorite of all time. It is so simple yet iconic. Every other game should have followed thar template. Nowadays they try to cram the entire country of whatever setting is featured in the game on the box art.

I’ll admit I was one of those people who also thought of the mission developments as rather repetitive (save for the pieces between the start and finish of each one in which we see Altaïr’s subtle character development), but the idea of these missions having a benefit in-story of drilling into Altaïr’s head what it actually means to be an Assassin makes that method of storyline a lot more interesting than it first appears

I say this often but I like Altair's character. I like him moreso than Ezio. He gives me psychopathic vibes, like a master assassin but with the action plan and ruthlessness of a templar. He's not an emotional person and he's perfect for the job.

Altaïr didnt look into the future to make the hidden gun, he literally made it. He made the original blueprints for it that Leonardo used to make Ezio’s.

I was 16 when AC 1 was released. I'd always been a fan of assassins and assassin games, and I'd played the Hitman games extensively. Altair was the coolest video game character I'd ever experienced, and AC 1 was a masterpiece. It was a completely fresh idea, with a new play style, which sucked me in from the get go. I love all the AC games, even the newer ones, but Altair is the goat for me. Bayek is a close second.

The Armor of Altair was originally conceived of as another invention of Leonardo's, so that probably explains the Italian appearance. Lore-wise, the armor was brought to Italy by the Polos and passed into the possession of Domenico Auditore, who built the Villa Auditore, so it's probable that the fabric sections were actually the robes of Ezio's immediate ancestors and not something originally designed by Altair. This would explain why the top portion of the robes underneath the armor bear a resemblance to Giovanni's robe; it's literally a family resemblance. Realistically any fabric portions that originally came with the armor would have degraded and rotted away in the 200+ years between Altair and Ezio's times. Notably, Altair's illustration of the armor in the codex is solely of top metal portion with no robe. My head-canon is that Altair wore the armor underneath his usual outfit up until his exile, and possibly when he returned, but it was never worn out in the open. His goal was to keep the new metal a secret after all. Taking it a step further, I don't really see the boots and vambrace as being original to the armor either. For one thing, they aren't included in the illustration I mentioned. For another, they being identical to the missaglias armor tells me that they were probably additions by Domenico. Domenico briefly possessed the complete codex in Venice. Perhaps he was able to recreate the metal formula to create additional armor pieces. Alternatively, he simply added the sturdiest armor he could find and Ezio just never knew the difference, hence the Animus referring the whole set as "Armor of Altair". Ezio thought those pieces were unbreakable, so the Animus made them that way. Canonically it was only ever the chest piece that would be put to the test...

Unexciting presentation of the conversations or not, if people are unironically breaking out their phones when Altair is talking to Al Mualim, they never cared about the narrative in the first place, and probably have ADHD.

I like to believe that losing Adha caused Altaïr to lose faith in the Creed and Al-Mualim's favouritism gave him the ego to turn him from the first Revelations memory to Altaïr from AC1.

Thank you so much for this video. I love your analysis of assassin’s creed one. Unfortunately, I’m not too fond of some of your takes on assassin’s creed revelations in regard to character development. In the video you stated that Philip had different versions of the original Altair accent, and you said that there were videos of it online. I haven’t been able to find any of them. Would you mind linking them?

It seems the assassin that died as collateral damage and the killing of an innocent man which probably was not his first time was karma. He changed and became a noble leader but with crime there is still punishment.

Hello my guy, I don't know if somebody else told you about this already, but there's an spanish content creator, goes for the name Damez Media, that is plagiarizing your content. You're not the first channel he has done this, as he already did the same with Fat Bret's of god of war. I do not mean by this that it's inspired, no, the thumbnail, title, and even script are exactly the same without leaving any credits. Of course this is only a problem if you care, but I still feel you must be informed about it if content is stolen from you. Have a good day

1:18:10 You're so badly wrong in your summation of where this memory picks up that I can barely keep watching. Did we play the same game? This is expanded upon in The Secret Crusade, but you don't even need to read that. Altair and Maria discuss what they were up to while walking through the castle and it sure didn't involve running away from the Assassins with the Apple. Adding to this later- you even play the conversation they have, and then proceed to get the timeline of events wrong AGAIN. Seriously, what the hell? You're just making up your own story at this point.

1:22:20 Okay this is just pathetic. All of these questions and more are answered in The Secret Crusade. I usually wouldn't say that a novelization is required reading to follow the plot, except for the fact that "The Secret Crusade" actually exists within the story of Revelations. It's literally the book Ezio takes off of Leandros at the end of the first memory sequence and he canonically reads it while sailing to Constantinople. I don't know how you make a video analyzing Altair's character without reading it for yourself, especially with how much time you spend gushing about him in your other videos.
