honestly, videos like this is all we need. Those classes help, but most forget most of it once they get home. Plus, learning the basics is really all that can be taught. We build from there on our own. Thank you for this. Nothing worse than spending 80 bucks for a short video on something we could figure out once we put time in under the graver.

Fist Pump while I do make videos I also tell people that you can’t learn Hand Engraving from KZfaq. There is so much more that goes into this art form that can’t be passed on in a 20 min video. These will help those who are already getting some form of formal instruction. A good mentor can help you cut years off the learning curve.

@@MasterEngraverTV I agree. This is really helpful for folks in my shoes with couple years experience. I had Brian Marshall for a 3 day course in the beginning but the only thing i took from it was how to properly hold the engraver and get a jist of how to cut.

@@fistpump5485 another thing is the more you learn the more you see.... When I go back and refer to some engraving technique I learned in the beginning of my career I always see things I didn't the first time. Or I always have a better and different understanding of how and why something is done. Tough to explain. I'd bet that if you took that same class with Brian again now you'd come out with new ideas and a better understanding of certain things. And it's those details that begin to take you to the next level.

@@savestheday258 theres no way I would spend 600 bucks on another class with him... Im sure if i found a proper instructor. But Brian ruined it for me. I have the basics.. I know most of the stuff I need to know could be researched on youtube or I can get the proper instruction from Steve Lindsay. I helps for free.

@@fistpump5485 ah that's sad to hear you didn't have a good experience with Brian's class. Never fun to spend money on something you weren't happy with. Aside from that though I only meant that even going back and watching tutorials from the past that I've already learned, I always pick up on something I hadn't before. And sometimes there's things I've learned or READ that click the 2nd and 3rd time around. I always though oh I'll buy this tutorial on DVD so I can resell it later if I need. But I don't plan on doing that anymore because I feel they are still valuable if I open my eyes and pay attention. That's just me though. 💭
