Those glasses must be magic. When they're on Brent is all neat and proper, when they're off he's back to his awesome goofy self, burping up a storm. Love that dude.

I was gonna say, he's way too articulate when wearing those things.

You're telling me Brent did that solo first take? Holy shit, that's one of his best solos
@ganondorfchampin5 жыл бұрын
The solos on this album were improvised?! It has some of the best damn solos I've ever heard.
@dylanwillis14735 жыл бұрын
That's just Brent really, most of his solos are.
@patrickolivier12 жыл бұрын
But think about it for a sec... if you’re writing a solo, nothing’s been written before you start creating. At first you’re improvising as you’re writing, no one’s outlining what you should and shouldn’t do, you just do it keeping what sounds good removing what doesn’t. 🙂

I dont know why but studio videos like this are so interesting to watch, and I find them so inspiring as well
@jasina5565 жыл бұрын
Brent might have lost some of his language skills, but with his gift of conveying artistic madness and ingenuity into beautiful music he is able to communicate more emotion in one solo than a thousand pages of poems, in a way that really speaks to your soul. When he says he lives to play guitar solos, I think this is an undeniable truth. May he give us a lot more of that dirty hindsy goodness.

It's insane to me that the solos Brent does are the first take.... in many ways more impressive than most jazz solos (which are based around set chord changes) because they always end up sounding like their own mini songs with a beginning, middle and end. Amazing.

That's the first and last time I've seen Brent making any sense when talking and answering questions.

I don't know if you know, but to lay down a solo like in Divinations just by feel pretty much the first time is super rare talent. Edit: and it's not just noodling either. You can hear how it starts an idea, responds, expands on it, moves it around, builds intensity, adds some flair, and resolves perfectly. It also perfectly marries technicality with raw dirty tones and just letting the instrument snarl in its own voice.

H. First Act makes amazing 9 string guitars. Matt Pike from High on Fire / Sleep uses them as well. They also have a budget guitar line for beginners.
@matthewamaya39675 жыл бұрын
First Act has (or had) a custom shop where they made quality instruments for artists who could afford a guitar made to their specifications. The ones at WM and Target are made with cheap materials and probably aren’t worth souping up.
