I'm a kiwi born and bred and when I watch your video's I feel like I've ignored NZ my whole life, just the joy you get from the simplest things....it's really an inspiration!

Wow! I've been driving through Matakana since my teenage years in the early 80s to go on fishing charters based in Leigh, and in my boating days in my 40s launch the boat in Leigh and Omaha to fish and dive around the Little and Great Barrier islands and on my last visit 2 years ago to see a mate who now lives in Leigh.....i noticed the difference but didn't stop, I will always remember Matakana as a run down country town, 40 odd years later!!

Stop in at Wenderholm regional park, just past orewa, great beach, bbqs available and just a great place to go.

You guys did well to film before coffee after a 5:30 start 😅 we are terrible with motivation for the camera that early! Love the hot chocolate in and edible cup, how did the cup taste? Was it like an ice cream cone?

You guys up north are having great weather for December. Summer has yet to arrive for those of us in Wellington. Very typical El Nino weather patterns so far, which means we're on track to get 6 weeks of warm weather starting in late January. Sigh. My partner loves the weather here (and would be happy living in Scotland) but I sometimes yearn for warmer climes this time of year.

I know the area well . Certainly beautiful. But most kiwis cavy afford matakana as it’s gentrified and one Needs lots of $ to live there . Not a true representation of NZ but celebrate the beauty on offer
