You officially had a case of "the giggles." This happens a lot as a performer and when you are doing voice over, you are doing a form of acting. Once you get the giggles...it's all over for a bit. Congrats! You're a pro now!

Hello Marty Nice to see this restauration. It did bring back memories. I ' ve had this model in '69 complete with trailer, canopy and it was originally painted in color gold. Pitty that it's all gone. ... Greetings from Jan, the Netherlands

If you use hot glue to attach the screws for painting, you can apply a little bit of heat with a heat gun, or even a good hairdryer, and it comes off quite easily. Lovely work!

I had this lorry new as a kid in the 70's along with 4 trailers never dame with a canopy as I remember but then I was young, came across them when my mother moved house 3 years ago hopefully I still have them in one of my outbuildings for they are mont and the TK, and the ice-cream van, the latter 2 inherited from my cousin Good video's

Marty you are the best! My kids just came to check on me. they though i was upset and crying, and i had the hardest time explaining to them why This Match box Video was making me laugh so hard it looked as if i was crying. Another great job! ps i have this Truck and the trailer with canopies. it's one of my favorites in my collection. God Bess

I love the Patina that old truck had.If it were mine I would of clean it up just a bit and enjoyed it the way it was...a 50 year old.But Good work and I enjoy your work.

Encore une bonne restauration , je ne me lasse pas de vous voir travailler , et à chaque véhicule mes souvenirs reviennent , évidemment je n'ai pas eu tous les modèles que vous faites revivre , avez-vous refais une Vauxhall Victor , car je me souviens mon papa a eu cette voiture , et comme elle existait en Matchbox , je l'ai eue dans mes petites voitures à 15 Frs , déja à l'époque je faisais les phares et les feux arrières , et cette Vauxhall je l'ai repeint car elle était jaune et celle de mon papa était en vert métallisé , j'espère encore découvrir de nouvelles vidéos , merci à vous.

Hallo Marty, Sorry my english is so bad, but i'm very lucky to show youre restoration movie. I'm born in 1959 and i can rember, i was a little boy and this truck was my favorit. Thank you very much, you save the dreams from the boys of the 50's, 60's and 70''s. Greetings from germany.

Great video, fond memories. I used to buy them, two every week with my allowance, $0.50 U.S. each. I had quite a collection. I was 8- 10 years old back then, man that is a long time ago. Now I wish I had kept them, but toys were part the rite of passage in our family and my cousin got my matchbox car collection.

@@MartysMatchboxMakeovers + When I was 10 or 11, I gave my Hot Wheels and Matchbox collection to a friend from school whose Dad died of cancer. There were 5 kids in the family and I knew he didn't have much. The only 2 I kept were a 65 Mustang and a 67 Camaro. Now I find myself grabbing a few here and there when I can find them, out of pure nostalgia. That's why I like watching your videos so much. It brings back happy memories.

You know, I have a shoebox with about a dozen Matchbox cars I spent my hard earned money on when I was about 5 or 10, and i have that truck and the trailer both with orange plastic covers for the beds. They never got played with much because the trailer and covers would never stay together very long during play. They look like I took them out of the box yesterday. Thanks for the memory! Beautiful work as well on yours. I going to go dig that box out...

Try drilling the tap hole first using the centre of the rivet as a guide, then carefully using a slightly bigger drill bit, drill off the top of the rivet. You have much more control and can be a lot more accurate. Hope this helps.

+Marty's Matchbox Makeovers Measure the depth and put a bit of tape round drill bit so you don't go too deep on the tap hole, you only need to be about 7mm deep.

Nice restoration. There is a polish for plastics like the windscreen called Novus, that will remove the scratches.

When i was a kid, i would walk to the neighborhood shopping center, go to Ben Franklin's 5&10. Get my Matchbox car for 65 cents. Which was all my allowance for the week.

Had quite a few matchbox models when I was a kid, the lesney factory in Hackney was one and a half miles from where I live, quite a few people worked there, they had a fleet of RT busses to take the workers to and from work. All flats and houses now, how times have changed.

At 4.12 when you say "I remove the paint with the toothbrush" we get a glimpse of your fancy t-shirt. BTW your hands even with black rubber gloves on look exceptionally elegant there while using the toothbrush. PS. I love your work. Thank you Marty for taking the time to make these videos.

Nice restoration, but why not use a razor knife to clean up the yellow cargo flash? 30 seconds and it would look a lot nicer. I like your work!

Had the same truck I have restored mine but painted it red as I didn't like the original colour, I like the canopy will have to look out for that and the trailer

I will never do this but I sure enjoy watching. I suggest you try some automive polish on the windscreen and canopy. It does a great job on plastics.
