Matchbox restoration Volkswagen Microvan Nr 34. Diecast model

For english subtitles press C. The Lesney company produced the Volkswagen Microvana from 1957 to 1961. My model was complete, quite badly damaged. I made new wheel axles and decals with inscriptions. I was able to open the model so that the restoration did not destroy the original mount. Volkswagen was number 34. It was the first in a series of Volkswagen vans later produced under this number. Thank you for watching. I upload movies with the repair of toy cars on KZfaq on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Great finish to one of the early Matchbox toys. Pretty primitive by comparison of today's toys but there's something special about it in its simplistic charm. I have one in my collection. Well done Paul. Stay safe

I have this model since around '62 or '63 after it was replaced by the later VW Van. Mine was the last one on a Matchbox display in a store so there was no box with it.

Like the process is using costic Soda easier than paint stripper and is it bi degradable

OMG why on Earth would you cut off the wheels? The chassis was fine, only had to do the body

The chassis was not right at all. It required thorough cleaning and painting. The wheel axles were crushed flat and were not suitable for recovery. The new nickel ones look just as good. Best wishes
