Oppenheimer wasn't the ONLY brain behind the bomb, Enrico Fermi and others had a key role. Fermi was unfortunately portrayed as a hanger-on, despite the fact he already had a Nobel Prize before starting working on his part of the project in Chicago. Americans for you - whatever was accomplished, it was done by the US. PS: I watched the movie and I really liked it, but more for non-science part, which, as a scientist, I found it to be wishy-washy. They made even Einstein look like a granpa who once worked in particle physics.
