I know it's not the actual chords but this song is in D Major so you could play D, A, b, G for the whole song on piano and it sounds good!! Hope this helps some folks!!

I was listening to this song while me and my best friend of 5 years both agreed on the fact that saying "I love you" is always viewed as romantic, even though it can be expressed in sibling love or in our case, best friend love (keep in mind that he is male and I am a trans male. many people view me as a girl still and assume we are romantically involved even though we're not). So, we both agree that we love eachother but as best friends, like we have said I love you casually before. But today we talked about it officially, and while the lyrics don't fit, the piano and chords do, and I feel quite sappy. We settled on latin "ego admiror te" and "admiror vos", and I thought it was a sweet story to cheer someones day up.

That's really sweet. As a gay woman I've felt the same awkwardness when telling female friends I love them. Platonic love is really undervalued in our culture. Which is really sad because my friends are my family

I love how everyone is sharing their own experiences and how and why they feel a certain emotion while listening to this song ,well for me this song touches me because I feel this way about my family like i always have to be the bigger person and act like nothing's wrong or what they say doesn't hurt or matter but it dose it would be different if I weren't related to them or have to live with them seeing them every day but I do I try not to let their words effect me but sometimes it dose and it feels like someone shot a bullet through my heart and my heart's slowly bleeding out,and I just constantly have to fight the thoughts of what if I just ended it here they wouldn't hurt me anymore and I wouldn't be a burden anymore,but I know I could really pull through with doing that because I don't know how badly that would effect them,like not having someone to put down making themselves feel better you know :/

Reminds me of my relationship with my father. We had a great relationship and I loved him so much. As my mother became abusive I saw him as ‘good cop’ and when we were together I felt free from my mother. Though over time probably through my moms manipulation and my father’s horrific treatment at work he joined in on the abuse. Now he holds no love for me anymore, he complains about me all the time. Everytime he says “I love you” it makes me feel better for a bit but I know deep down it’s a lie. I just want my dad back

This man's songs really have shown me through some of the biggest points of my life. Starting with this one. Making it through my first heartbreak with a boy, which seems so cliche and little to some. But really paved the way for a lot of my hardest times. Abandoned with a drug problem by person I thought I loved most. Then, Curl up and Die. Which helped me through the acceptance of going into foster care and my mother's abuse and neglect. When she was once my best friend in life. To now, with As the World Caves in. An unexpected pregnancy with the love of my life who I was lucky to find through all of this. And one day I will dance to that song at our wedding with our little one able to be there and having a small happy little family. Thank you, for everything Matt.

Most songs I listen to at first and can't get into it, but after a few times listening to it I start to like it. This is not one of those songs. As soon as the song began I was in love. And when the chorus started the tears came, followed by my sobs. Just.... wow. I've listened to it 57 times and it's still as if I've listened to it the first time. It's just one of those songs that you instantly fall in love with and feel connected to it. Wow

Never heard of this guy before today... As a music producer I try to look past all the facade and fakeness of the music industry and get to the roots of true talent and song behind the labels and money that cloud up the scene. That one girl that covered As The World Caves In got 100M views. I saw 'cover' in the title and looked up the original. There I found Matt. This guy has talent and soul. Even in my sidebar I'm seeing covers of his songs (including this one) that have many times more views, even being covers. That tells me that true musicians see the soul behind Matt and try to capitalize on it. There's something special about finding the golden nuggets of music from unknown artists that's just pure soul. That's why Matt reminds me of Jon Bellion - a name you've likely never heard. And that's the point. Jon Bellion wrote Memories for Maroon 5, Holy for Justin Bieber and Graveyard for Halsey. He could have released the songs himself and gotten famous but didn't. He kept the music sacred and let other artists, artists whom prioritize the industry over the music, and made them famous because of it. This Matt Maltese guy reminds me of him for that reason. No flashyness, no millions upon millions of views, just soul and genuine songwriting. Many people on the internet have great voices, but I can sense when there's good soul behind it. I see that here. I saw that in As The World Caves In, I see it in Even If It's a Lie, I see it in this Matt guy.
