First of all, thank you for reacting to my favorite band. This was at their 20’ anniversary concert last year and I was there. It was the first time they performed this song from their latest EP where they collaborated with various artists. At the moment they don’t perform with all the big stuff in the USA because the shows are too small. I don’t know how far away you are from Mexico City because on December 7 2024 they will have a concert with a full orchestra and choir there. But you have to be quick because ticket sales started two weeks ago. I won’t make any suggestions on the next song because I love ALL their music. Enjoy your weekend. 🤘

I live near Washington DC, it’s pretty far from Mexico City. We just need to figure out a way to make them bigger in America, so they can do a bigger show here. Thank you for watching

That concert is sold out by now. I checked recently. It's gonna be great. (Hi from Mexico City.)

First time sax has been used in an EPICA song. Shining is a Norwegian band. Jorgen Munkeby, seen here, is their lead singer, multi instrumentalist, and only original member left. The song was live debuted at the EPICA 20th anniversary concert in The Netherlands, and streamed online, last year September. A lot of the footage in this video is from that show. It is from the 7 song EP of collaborations, The Alchemy Project, released a few months later. Check out, Also from this EP, "Sirens of Blood and Water" featuring Charlotte Wessels and Myrkur.

As far as I know, Epica travel with a much more limited setup for the USA and Canada. They are bigger in Central and South America but even there, they probably have a smaller stage setup than in Europe. I would imagine that will change for the Mexico City show which is in December 2024. The guy singing and playing sax is from Norwegian band, Shining.

We need to make them bigger in North America.

Epica don't always use the big stage set in Europe, we saw them earlier this year in England in a relatively small intimate venue, and it was fantastic, they had an absolute blast on stage, and were just as goofy as they are on a huge stage, I loved every minute 🙃

Thank you that gives me hope since based the comments the show will be much smaller if/when I get to see them in America.

Same- we went to this show, then to Bristol without all the extras. They were still awesome - I think in the small setting you could really feel how tight the band are.

I definitely need to see them!

unfortunately, in North America they do not have such a large fan base to organize a big show there 🤷🏻♀️ however, in South America and Europe, of course, they have a lot of fans, so in these countries they put on a great show, not always of course with a circus on stage, but even without them it’s quite spectacular.

Hi Wildhoney, Do you have tickets to the concert next year?enjoy your weekend

@@frank1963 Unfortunately, I live very far from the Netherlands and especially Mexico 😔 and in my country now everything is very bad with concerts, since Epica visited us in 2019. And when they will visit again is unknown

@@wildhoney126 oh I’m so sorry to hear that, I know how much you love them, that must be difficult for you. where do you live if i may ask?

I feel like we need to do something to make them bigger in North America, so we can get the European and South American style shows.

Even in the Netherlands the amount of show you saw in this video was a bit special. The video footage was taken from their 20th anniversary show in Tilburg, The Netherlands, where the debuted this song by playing it live. I was there and had an amazing time. The show lasted 3 hours, because they thought it was a good laugh to have 'Sahara Dust' as the opening act: Which is basically Epica before they changed their name to Epica. 😂 Shows are usually bigger in Europe, because they can bring out their elaborate set pieces more easily. The sad part for bands like Epica (but also Nightwish and Sabaton) They never get to play the big venues in North America, and they have to organize everything themselves as they don't get any support from NA record labels or anything. Even worse: They rather see them not coming to perform.

We need to make these bands bigger in America, so I can see them at their full potential. I am so jealous that you got to see such an Amazing show live, that is Awesome

If you come to Amsterdam next September, you will have the full live orchestra :-) EDIT: ah yes, and Mexico too with full orchestra, thanks frank1963 for the reminder!

This si such a fun song. I recommend checking out "Sirens - Of Blood And Water", which is also from this collaborative mini-album. The track features Charlotte Wessels (ex-Delain) and Myrkur and combined with Simone's voice, it's vocal heaven. It's an interpretation of the original "The Little Mermaid" story. Dark and hauntingly beautiful.

Awesome, I will definitely check it out.

How do you get to an Epica show like that? They have just announced some special shows for next year. 2 nights in Amsterdam (one already sold out) and 1 night in Mexico City. The shows will feature full orchestra and choir, which they haven’t done since Retrospect in 2013.

They sound awesome! Hopefully they will release videos from those shows.
