I tested Nimbus 26, Cumulus 26 and Novablast 4 in various ASICS events, and I really liked the ride of Cumulus 26 a lot more than the other two. Much smoother transition, more nimble feel at the foot.

I bought the Cumulus 26 expecting to like it and supplement my Nimbus 26. I like the Cumulus much more than expected and if I had to choose 1 shoe between the Cumulus 26 and Nimbus 26, it would be the Cumulus.

Really good information! Asics seems to do well in this department. No gimmicks, just a very good dependable shoe. I've run more miles in Nimbus 24s in the past year than any other shoes, and they're great for super easy runs because I never want to go any faster than a shuffle in them, but I think there's a bit of "comfort theater" going on with that line. When I'm actually out running rather than standing in them in the living room, I can be at least as comfortable in lighter and less extravagantly padded shoes.

I've never heard it call "comfort theatre," but I love the term! Yes, I have often thought that many shoes are unnecessarily padded and would be just as comfortable (and lighter) with 50% less padding.

I just purchased these today. They were recommended for my 1st half marathon. So far they are very comfortable.

I bought the Cumulus 25 for my daughter as an everyday shoe and it's held up really well. I put 300 miles on the Nimbus 25 but, ultimately, I decided it was too heavy for my tastes.

It great you got in 300 miles before deciding they were too heavy. You got good use out of them! Unfortunately that type of daily trainer is usually on the heavy side.

The 25s would bottom out for me during my daily runs in the forefoot. Novablast 4 worked better for me. The cumulus is extremely comfortable though and they have become my walking shoe.

Hello! Thank you for making the video! Is the lack of outsole rubber a cause for concern? I'm worried about "grippiness" if wearing the Cumulus after it rains.

Hi Vitaly! The outsole is nothing to worry about. It is surprisingly grippy, even in the wet.

The 25 was way too mush for me and the heel too soft. Will i like this more? Is it anything like the Glideride 3?

I didn't run in v25 or the Glideride 3, so can't really say. It's definitely softer in the heel than the original Glideride.

The Nimbus is great but it's just way too heavy especially if you have larger than average feet. Had the Nimbus 25 but will probably try out the Cumulus this year, althought that outsole isn't looking great.

What is it about the outsole you don't like the look of? I think it's the best part of the shoe!

@@its_Matt_B_ I run mostly on surfaces other than the pavement so the wear and loss of outsole pattern scares me a bit. But if the foam itself is grippy enough after the loss of pattern, then I understand you take on it.

Im going to be on grass/turf a lot this summer rehearsing for drum corps. Do you think the outsole grip is going to be ok once ive broken it in?

🤔 These would be less than ideal if the grass is wet at all. You may want to consider something like the Hoka Challenger 7. It's a road-to-trail shoe that has bigger lugs. @@its_Matt_B_ Yo, thank you for the reply! Those were my thoughts exactly if I would be out on dewy grass at all in the morning or after a rain. I think I'm going to return these and look for a better option with more grip. Definitely going to try on the Hoka Challenger 7s!

@@its_Matt_B_ Ended up going and picking up a pair of Challenger 7s at Road Runner! Super happy with how light they are and I think the smaller lugs will give me the grip I was looking for.

Is it cushy enough for a recovery shoe compared to the Nimbus? My local Asics outlet has the v25 for both shoes for a song. With Memorial weekend coming up, they'll probably be even cheaper.

Yes, definitely cushy enough for a recovery shoe! That rubberized outsole makes for a soft ride!

Yes, I think so, but if the arch support isn’t enough you could always add an arch insert.

You're a lot tougher than me ..those hot ,heavy shoes wear me out..before I get to the end of the driveway I want them off..I have a pr that I got cheap and use it for cutting wood in the winter and for shoveling snow..a plus is don't need any laces cos of booty upper..😊

🤣 The no laces are definitely a benefit of a booty upper! I really don’t mind, and actually like daily trainers like this. Of course they’re not ideal for running fast, but the comfort they offer is exactly what I’m looking for in an easy day shoe.

seen them online for about 80€ and thought to myself, what could seriously go wrong? if the midsople is crap i could still use them for casual wear cause i actually think they do look rather decent (i've only got about 18 other retired trainers for casual wear lol).

@@its_Matt_B_ Obrigado pela resposta! Também penso que sim e a corrida tem um trecho de subida de 15 km e depois um trecho de descida de 15 km no meio da corrida e acho que os Cumulus 26 me dão mais conforto e também são mais amortecimento para as pernas, principalmente em descidas rápidas!
