I, like many other pilots in the real world, got my start flying in the virtual world. I still pop online from time to time, and it’s really awesome to see that FS is still a hobby to so many. Hey Matt, you and the KZfaqr you mention occupy different spaces. He is all about the visuals, something pretty for folks to look at. You are about teaching others HOW to handle these complex addons. When FSX Steam edition was released and I got back into flight simming it was your videos that got me learning procedures and all the addons that were available. It was watching your videos that got me into Prepar3d, to purchase the NGX and start on VATSIM. So you keep doing you. You may not get as many views but your videos do alot more for those in the community. In the words of the late Stan Lee, "Excelsior!"

A fantastic video, I love it when you fly with other people, I think that's a great idea - gives it more of a teamwork feel, trying to juggle around each other etc.

Glad to see you're back and well! I actually prefer your format to that other guy's one, so I think your video format is fine. Found it funny how one of his videos showed up in my recommended for this video. If your into the BA777 at the moment, a flight I recommend doing is BA189 from LHR to EWR. Also, Dovetail Games aren't bankrupt, they are just making train sims now, but I would definitely say that their tight restrictions doomed FSW.

Hi Matt, as per your request to give feedback. I think there would be two possible options you can take that might take. One is tabloid approach where you are flying and you are rambling about giving your opinions and news of things going on in the fs community. The other option is which I would be interested to see would be the effort you take in planning your flight from flight plan to finding your departure and arrival gates, planning for sids and stars, doing any walkaround and exploring the scenery a bit before boarding into the plane, setting up the flight deck, etc. A video that emulates you being a pilot in virtual world including dealing with dispatch and any passenger delays and also making sure your scheduled flight is on par.

You were impressed by the number of ships around Singapore.... yes, that is the case. Lots always at anchor waiting to go in to port or for other reasons. Always a great view of the ships when approaching from the south.

To answer your question about how we want the video. No fancy animation necessary, keep it like the streams...I love the waffling about, perfect to watch/listen while doing homework. One possible tip is to try and explain the different systems and what you are doing as you preflight, pushback, engine start, taxi, etc. for those who may not be as experience as us flight simmers.

Don't change your format Matt, I like to learn new things about flying and I cannot do that without your commentary.

Matt, your content is amazing and honestly your videos are in my top 3 for flight sim videos. I think you're not getting as high as view because your videos suit a more mature flight sim audience. I dont mean to shit on other people, but a lot of people who view flight sim videos are only judging videos by just how good ( close to real) it looks. You're videos are chill, funny, well put together and a lot of interesting things happen unexpectedly that really makes watching you videos more than just mindless watching videos online. Whenever i get a notification on you uploads, it like a relief because i know that when i have free time from work and school to relax, i have something good to watch while im relaxing, instead of being bored and mindless going through boring, uninteresting videos.

I think I know the KZfaqr you are talking about. The reason that channel does so well is because it specialises in re-creating highly realistic (both in terms of visuals and sounds - including inflight announcements etc) flight experiences with great cinematography, and produces that content regularly and consistently. And they’re relatively short - the videos are cut down to the most interesting bits. But your channel has a completely different appeal which really comes down to your personality. So making content without narration would be counterproductive for you. Your humorous but informative take on things is great. So pretty sure you could gain a similar number of followers if you consistently publish videos like this one. 👍😉

Hi Matt, it's good to see you back on here. I'll jump in on the feedback request for a bit. Made me think about why I watch your videos. I think it's mainly (and others have said this) the calm and relaxed atmosphere - you're not rushing to get everything done in 5 minutes or shouting at us or whatever. Also, you have a clue about what you're doing. And personally you help me keep a bit of an eye on what's going on in the flight sim community currently (be it ProjectFLY developments or other things). Even if you're rambling on a bit, it's usually still relevant and interesting to hear. (It's perhaps not a good idea to directly compare you to other KZfaqrs, but if I were to watch Captain Canada doing a stream, I zone out after 5 minutes because 80% of the time he's just acknowledging people in the chat, answering to dumb questions or getting subscriptions / donations and repeating the exact same line to them - even though he seems like a great guy and all that, the form factor of his content forces him to do this.) And so if I want to for example see what the 777 looks and sounds like (and a third party impression of how it flies), it's very easy for me to get that from one of your videos because a) you know what you're doing, and b) you're not constantly interrupted by bells and whistles and hundreds of people in the chat seeking attention from you. If you're looking to change or improve anything, I honestly don't think you need to. But perhaps it would be interesting to try Bilal Khan's suggestion below, where you could go more in-depth on the procedures with SIDs / STARs, doing walkarounds and checking the scenery out for a bit, and sort of emulate being the pilot for real. Now I'll go back to enjoying the rest of the video, thanks again Matt, keep it up mate.
