Dear grandchildren, I was 13 and your grandpa remembers this. If the audience looks weird, it’s because they show the guests in a talk show (the host appearing at 2:25 is Michel Drucker). I was a kid and she mesmerised me. I really remember that performance. She was freedom, empowerment, beauty and ugliness at the same time. Respect to that artist and her iconic performance in a very family-friendly show. Drucker was smart though. He knew what he was presenting to his French conservative audience!

I love that they didn't know what to make of her. But I also liked the smile one of the men made- curious, amused, but listening. What she does vocally may sound crazy, but it is actually quite amazing. Michael Jackson couldn't make enough of his signature sounds to match Nina. When you hear her do this kind of stuff on recordings, its easy to believe or assume that she laid down several tracks of her making sounds and experimenting and picking and choosing what she likes; but hearing her do it live, makes you wonder if she didn't carefully plan out each sound-- someone just "messing around" and trying to be "weird" in a studio would not be able to reproduce the performance live-- she does. It all comes out as one seamless sound experience. I find her delightful and she makes me happy. Often she makes me laugh and feel joy, sometimes she makes me cry.... and there's one part in her song Gretchen, a chromatic change, that is both painful and pleasing at the same time- it takes my breath away and stomps on my chest for a split second and then the song continues to build-- its dramatic and intense, and beautiful. It's Nina Hagen.

Ce ne sont pas de vrais auditeurs. Vous savez au début des années 80, il y avait beaucoup d'artistes talentueux décalés et Nina Hagen était une star, tout le monde savait qui elle était, même moi qui avait 5 ans alors merci n'écrivez pas n'importe quoi.

....toujours magique; j'ai découvert Nina Hagen dans un magasin de disque et j'avais 7 ans; j'y allait pour m'acheter un spot de couleur; histoire de donner un peu de punk et de disco à ma vie de gosse et le morceaux était "African reaggae" le choc a été frontal et bénéfique......j'ai aujourd'hui 46 ans et je l'aime toujours comme j'aime toujours Gainsbourg et Bowie. Allons enfants; rebellez-vous car si nous nous retournons vers nos penseurs c'est qu'il est temps de comprendre que cette société est malade.

So if we follow that stereotype you judge a guy because he show that he find the song or the artist "absurd" perhaps you'd do the same thing with pop music. La maitrise de voix top excellente. Une chanteuse remarquable. Evolutionaire. C'est dommage à l'époque de l'année disco. ce n' était pas une chanson ambiante. Maintenant. C'est une chanson culte. J'ai toujours aimé cette artiste 👍.🥰❤️🌈🌹

je ne crois pas que ce pauvre Drucker maîtrisait aussi les invités. tu rêves ! 80, le gars n'avait aucun pouvoir. une unité de production construisait les shows. il était la tête qui parlait. point. et pourtant aucune sympathie pour lui. et quand il roule des yeux, quel con !!!
