Loved the way Matt asked Rhett what his thoughts were on how to solve the situation, despite probably knowing the best option himself the whole time. Good leaders allow people opportunities to succeed and even to fail, but in that event, to learn why. These guys are simply great people.

Yeah they’re great people, dude it’s always better to get a fresh perspective or any other ideas… recovery is always worth thinking about all options and going with whatever is the safest and most economically viable and fastest.. a blend of the three

Rhett figuring out the four wheel drive problem is what allowed them to get it out with a lot less hassle. The owners probably would've gotten it out just fine if they would've figured out the four wheel drive issue; they just needed a Rhett to figure it out for them! And Matt allowing Rhett to figure it out himself just shows what a great Dad/teacher he is.

Also, the evening may have brought a bit of moisture to the sand, and improved traction. I suspect if they went to get it at 5 in the morning, it would have been better traction.

Matt always finds a way to get the job done. Matt made a good point about the tires being bald. I had a 1984 Ramcharger that had bald tires and I was able to pull people out of the soft sand when I lived in Arizona. There was a sandy area next to a Carl's Jr that people thought was a good place to park. I would try to warn them that it's not a good place to go but they wouldn't listen.I was charging $50 to get them out. I was making some good money. I would hang out there after work around dinner time when it was busy.

I absolutely love that your tow vehicles are yellow. This color is so cool but hardly seen other than a poor shade of it on school busses and construction equipment. Cool channel man. Bring back Liz.

once upon a time, I raced motocross ATVs. One time, after a huge rain and just sloppy, wet mud, I chose to jack up my ATV off the ground and lower my pressures to zero psi. Of course, I had bead locks and I had traction like nobody else and easily won that race. It's a HUGE difference.

Its so useful to know how to make a sand anchor in these conditions by burying a tire deep in the sand with a winching point attached to it. The do amazing work getting people and there 4X4s out of bad situations.

you would be digging for a month trying to burry a tire in that dry sand, for an anchor! The hole fills back in as fast as you can dig it out!

@@k1j2f30 I was gonna say the same thing. I’ve only done it once, and it took me 2 hours to bury a 33” wheel deep enough to winch from, it took 2 attempts, not deep enough the first time, but I was exhausted … so I bought a land anchor and I’ve never needed it since 🤣🙄

@@k1j2f30 Well, that depends on whether or not you've got some experience.... I always carried a spray bottle and a 1/2 gal of 50% starch and water.... if, as you dig your hole, you have someone spray the sand on the sides with the mix... the sand will hold (years and years of sand castles....

Man, what a great teacher you are Matt, letting Rhett figure it out, and how great a job that Rhette does while doing it! .. Just impressed again how flat tires are the only thing that works in deep fine sand ... when you think you have let enough air out already but you're still having a bit of difficulty .. let more out 🙂
