I had one and I loved it the only downside to it, was it had an issue feeding the last 2 or 3 rounds in the magazine, probably due to it being a downscaled version of the real thing, and yes I polished my rounds as well as the feed ramp. needless to say I loved the damn thing, and folks at the range loved it, but I ended up swapping it out to a ruger 10/22 for the reliability factor if you have the 550-600 bucks to buy one, definitely do so.

German laws require centerfire be changed significantly from the millitary original design and US laws require it to be "sporting purpose" i.e. not an "assault rifle" 22lr is generally exempt at least here in the US

Some companies import compliant rifles i.e. single stack 10 or less round mags, thumb hole stock. And then convert it in the US. However it is expensive to do because the US requires 20 or less foreign parts and 6 or more US made Parts to sell it.

@@exovay6468 Lookup SGAmmo they have 7.92x33 Kurz for around 1.30 a round which is still not cheap but for a gun you won't be shooting insane amounts of ammo out of its not bad.

Still made by gsg. Just another importer. I didnt have any problems with my 22 GSG, but in my country we have slots were we can own a certain number of weapons, so when i finally found an HK 243(civilian g36 in 223r) i replaced it with a more ”real” firearm 😅

Unfortunately while we can't get HKg36 clones in the US. Though we we don't have a limit on how many we own. I forget the price for a US G36 clone but its probably $5k+

I kind of wish companies would make more hugher caliber reproduction guns. .22 lr reproduction guns are fun and all but they're useless for anything but light critter hunting at best and a step above an airsoft replica at worst. Even just a .32 acp reproduction would be substantially better, as the rifle would be useful as not just a reproduction range toy, but also as both a small game hunting, & self defense gun. Yes, ammo would cost more, but if .32 acp were more popular it would probably be very cheap, much cheaper than 9mm at least, and the guns would likely cost only slightly more, if not the same. Edit: but wait I thought of even more! Even the magazines would be better, as they would be able to better match the capacity of the original weapon.

Yeah a 22lr STG44 kills it for me. I rather rock a 10/22 with mags I can afford than the gimmick gun. I already have a 22lr walter and I kinda wished I bought the 380 version. Still fun to shoot though.

Ehhh, it would be a lot cooler in a real rifle cartridge, I under that blowback is so much s cheaper, but a 7.62x39 stg would be super cool, kinda the closes you can get to 8mm Kurtz without being 8mm Kurtz, but they would have to change the magazines and a bunch of stuff

HMG. I actually called them last July asking about their StG and if the project stopped. I talked to one of the owners, can’t think of his name right now. He said it’s still in progress, working out kinks and didn’t give me an estimated date of finish. So best not to put hopes on HMG. Palmetto State Armory said they were going to make a clone, but that’s been delayed for awhile now. If you were serious about having a 8x33K StG, best bet is to start saving for a PTR44. They ain’t cheap meng.

@@dakotaj5646PSA bought out HMG i believe. So ultimately HMG stgs will be made by PSA if they ever release. That said PSA did show it off at shot show a year or so ago. I'm honestly hoping they release their steel case ammo first.

Huh I always have something against the STG 44 of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3 because I didn't like the way They look but now looking at the real thing yeah the Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3 versions do look a lot more closer to the real life version so if You have Realism above all then I guess the Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3 versions are better I personally like the way the Call Of Duty 2 and Call Of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 1 versions look and sound more and then the World At War and Black Ops 1 versions are the Middle of the Road for Me

Gsg (also called Umarex i believe) makes them, they used to be imported by American Tactical Imports with the wooden crate and now Blueline imports them without the crate. The mauser name on it is just a trademark that Blueline licenses for its imports, Mauser has zero to do with this beyond their name being on it.
