Oh dear god he’s in the walls he’s in the god damn walls SEGA: what if we made a game with a story about war and have concept art that looks like the game would be promising but then change every thing later before the release slap on some paint that looks like it’s being stretched throw the Nintendo switch controller in there for the Nintendo switch users and have classic sonic be there for absolutely no god dang reason…

Which is interesting because if I recall correctly, most other boost games start you with either full or one gauge (In the what, one game that has multiple gauges?).

​@@supersmily5811Only Generations, the Rush trilogy and Frontiers puts you with a full gauge. Unleashed you need a couple of rings and for Colours you need a Wisp capsule

@@bobbovine Both versions of Unleashed started with an empty gauge. However on the wii/ps2 versions pressing the boost button as soon as the text said go you'd get a free boost.

Unwiished is still peak boost gameplay, can't change my mind. Still sucks that people spread the myth that the Wii version has no good controlmethod because Classic Controller is literally right there.

For me, he made forces actually sound fun

I would not count myself as one of those five people who liked Forces, but a part of me wants to be. There are some good ideas here, they’re just wasted on this game. The avatar is my prime example. Character creation aspect aside, they were my favorite character to play as: maybe not that different from modern Sonic, but all the differences that were there had potential. The wispons were…kinda broken honestly, but open the gate for a mashup of Sonic speed and spectacle fighter, kinda like what the Spark the Electric Jester games tried to do. The grappling hook, while mostly just a homing attack substitute and otherwise automatic, would fit in great with that. Sure, these are just my own wishes, but they’re proof of potential in the avatar’s kit that wasn’t realized in Forces, and yet having those tools in the first place still made them the most fun to me. The squandered idea thing goes beyond wishful thinking, too. Still mainly with the avatar, a few stages seemed super cool, still kinda fun to play through, but just didn’t get their chance to shine with the tiny stage lengths. Aqua Road is my prime example: a fun little water ride to some nice music (yes I kinda like the OC stage music) in Forces, but it could’ve been so much more as a longer and more realized level, a maze of water slides where risking your life and launching yourself off to another segment is often rewarded. Prison Hall’s also on there for cool factor, though in that case it might actually be just the right length. And while many might see it as a negative, I enjoyed how the likes of Arsenal Pyramid utilized the wisps: maybe it’s a bit much for lightning to let you skip the entire back half, but I very much enjoyed the idea of getting access to new routes depending on what Wispon you bring in and thus what wisp type is active. I still can’t like this game fully: it’s short, it’s dumb, and the title character is either a nothing burger as modern or terrible as classic. And yet I still find myself liking almost everything about the avatar and wishing they were in a better game.

@@Capoodle Shame, but I'll summerise it for you: _"The Avatar is a really cool take on the basic Sonic gameplay (even if the Wispons are bit on the broken side), but the levels are too short to be fun, even if their concepts are awesome. Also the music in Avatar's stages is fantastic [which I agree with by the way - Virtual Enemies my beloved

@@artey6671 It's been years since I played it. Yeah, 100% cards is something I never even got close to. I just saw what I got as I went through story mode and tried out combinations, unlocked Chaos, got the Super Combos, repeated each mission for the secret Gerald logs, then did a bunch of runs of the Tails lab challenge until I got bored. I did small amounts of grinding, like, 2 or 3 fights every chapter or two just to get some extra cards. But not much.

@@calemr Grinding in this game is not particularly fun, but I kind of force me to do it every now and then. The thing is, the ultra skills are nothing compared to the ??? skills. I have almost all ultra skills, but only 2 ??? skills. They are almost impossible to get.

It is kinda dissappinting there isn't a whole lot of neat things for sonic forces. But on the upside since you can emulate DS games, you can play Henry hatsworth, so ig that makes up for it

@@littlemoth4956 Yeah, I can see how he’d look like it at first glance, especially in such a small window. I’ll admit to seeing the MLP Movie at the same time, and Capper being another inspiration for the physical design. However, he was never meant to be a straight recolor. Similar due to being the same species, but the smaller details are pretty much all completely different. Though…yeah, just from the tiny KZfaq profile pic resolution, it’s practically impossible to pick up any details on that coat, but trust me, the design is different from Capper’s or Joker’s.

I’d say “beat 06 without encountering horrible glitches”, but frankly they were pretty kind to me when I played it. Not that my run was completely painless, but the issues I had involved the Havok Engine making explosives blow my rings into the stratosphere as they drop and, well, End of the World. Both things that aren’t actually glitches, just things working as intended that really weren’t thought through.

​@flameosaurus1832 i think it gets hate due to the fact that the trailers promised so much, and when it came out, the hype had pretty much died down, and it was... mediocre, to say the least. I also feel like it's because the fans knew how much wasted potential there was therefore they hated it. I for one do occasionally play it for fun. (Also infinite had so much potential to be something more than just "I AM NOT WEAK" and "edgy the edgelord")
