My first fire giant fight was a let down. Mostly because of the bug at the time, when you dealt damage when the cutscene started, after the scene ended, the hp bar would just melt off.

I found mohg very simple, If you didn't know, the tres, duo and unus lines are scripted and required after certain health threshholds, using a maxed sword of night and flame, the light skill and 60 int, I was getting consistently down to his second phase by hitting him once, and imediately shackling, hitting him with the skill again, he'll get back up so you have to dodge the spear on tres, then you get a large enough window to hit him, by the way, at this point I always had him past Nihil and duo comes in same as tres, then on unus same, then for nihil at 30 vigor I was able to take 2 hits in radahn armor and heal to live, of course if he's low just hit him at the beginning of the skill, but I was always a bit away from kill and I wasn't using terra magica because I hadn't found it

I killed the fire giant with the shield crash using the palisade shield full bleed build. Most bosses are much easier with dot application. Bleed and poison eats through large hp bars very quickly.
