One tip you probably have never heard of is to use grazing livestock to reduce grasses that deer won't eat and turn them into manure to feed the soil and make the plots more nutritious.
In this video, homestead expert Jon Rossman shows how he uses cover crop cocktails to produce pork, beef and eggs while providing many tons of forage for deer and pollinators. At the same time, he is enhancing the productivity of the soil, reducing the need for herbicides and pesticides.
For a food plotter, you may want to consider planting this mix since it will reseed itself with light disking or mowing. You may also want to use livestock to reduce grasses and improve soil and save on mowing time and herbicides to get rid of grass in your clover plots.
