Honestly, they didnt have to personally say this, the company couldve just released a statement and so by them doing this, it takes so much respect, love and trust in ARMY to let us in and tell us these hard heavy things weighing them down. It shows how much we mean to them and it breaks my heart that they have to ask permission to rest. I hope everybody supports this move because as you can see, its nevery easy. This is why I will root for them, why I will always root for them. 😊

I think I will never meet another group like BTS, there is no other group like them. They have always been sincere and sensitive towards their fans. They are unique, that makes them special and the best.

You are not wrong about Jin wanting to protect himself in this situation. A part of it is that he's obsessed with keeping the environment light and when things are really down, he feels compelled to lighten everyone up. But don't worry. Eventually you will hear about everything he felt, in a song. He feels comfortable giving raw honesty in music. I was extremely affected by Joon's speech as well. A lot of people assumed that Army was sad because they thought BTS was breaking up. But that's not the case. I'm sure you've heard this before. BTS - Army has an almost codependent parasocial relationship. So when we heard that the boys were exhausted and in pain.. and felt guilty about wanting a break, it broke our hearts and we were also unable to comfort them. That's why we were all sad.

it was hard watching the festa video the first time, but what hurt the most wasn't the fact that they are taking a break to rest. it's the fact that they feel so burned out. it hurts seeing people you love and admire so hurt and lost when it comes to their craft. im an artist as well and there is nothing scarier than not knowing what to say with your art. i hope they find peace and come back stronger than ever.

Makes me really happy that jimin and rm have people like taehyung and yoongi in the group, because jimin and rm seem to be feeling very guilty and taehyung and yoongi im sure will keep reassuring them that us as fans truly just want what’s best for them all.

I think you hit the nail on how some of the members emote and communicate: Yoongi -- his straightforward direct unembellished way of speaking, he doesn't give any fabricated motivational speak but is just real when he says things like "i have no advice to give to them because we have led such different lives" and that's what makes us trust him so much Seokjin -- he is so sincere for his love for ARMY but he doesn't let himself get deep into his emotions 100% because he always wants to be the one to keep things light-hearted and make others smile, notice that he peppers funny anecdotes throughout, especially after a particular member says something heavy. and as someone else said, he's more comfortable communicating it through music than speaking it out in front of the camera Hoseok -- the thing about hoseok is that he mostly keens an even-mode when it comes to emotional topics because like Jin, he likes to keep others happy. and as u said, he tends to let others shine and hear others' stories and digests his emotions internally. that said, because he tries to do that, it sometimes gets too much for him and overflows -- and because he's also very expressively emotionally, it comes out here and there...like how he would shed tears and cry in front of others (whereas Jin wouldn't let himself do that), and during the 2018 MAMA speech when he full-on cried to the point he couldn't speak properly Taehyung -- he is very in tuned with his emotions, and like u said he can pinpoint exactly where in his 'body' he feels discomfort and can articulate it, in that way he is very pure and childlike in expressing his emotions (out of all the members, we see him express his inner child the most and that's probably why people think he's the quirkiest, most imaginative and most unpredictable one in the group Jungkook --- our youngest who knows how to absorb and listen to what others say and summarises it concisely, sweet and simple. true that he really admires and looks up to his brothers around him, and i think he feels so grateful that he has his elder brothers to look to as an example, to be motivated by, to be influenced by. he's grown a lot and matured a lot into his own person and with his unique way of communicating too. Jimin -- the biggest empath, extremely sensitive to how others would feel, and everytime he speaks, he speaks through an emotive lens... it's true he doesn't speak so off the cuff when it comes to serious topics because he's very deliberate and intentional with every word he wants to convey to others, he's very thoughtful with his words Namjoon -- this rare moment of him breaking down is truly him letting his heart speak without his brain filtering....yes u're right most of the time he speaks with both his heart and his intellect -- and he analyses and ponders and contemplates a lot. but in that moment that he teared...it was such a precious moment of vulnerability...a different kind of vulnerability...we've not seen namjoon cry LIKE THAT... thats why as ARMY we all broke down crying too thanks Max for these reactions and analyses, for paying close attention to them as they communicate, and to also articulate how we as fans may feel -- it's true they weren't outright giving a simple statement at the start of the video...they were building it up and talking details about it, bit by bit, i think that's what made it a bit nerve-wrecking watching to ensure that we understood exactly what they were conveying. it was clear at the end, of course. but yes, ARMY feeling sad is because we felt their hardships, we feel what they feel when they said they were torn, we felt sad that they thought they would disappoint us because we would NEVER be disappointed in them, and then of course...namjoon's crying got us in tears. But at the end of the day, we're SO happy that they are able to do what they need to grow and get even stronger for BTS in the long run.

Out of all the members, Jin is the hardest to understand. Just when you think you know him, he does something you never thought of him. We only know what he wants us to know. And he has 6 different personalities when he's with each member. It's not that he doesn't think deep, he just doesn't let others to know what he thinks.

With Jin I think it’s because he doesn’t like getting emotional in front of the cameras. The members multiple times said they always talk to him about a lot things without the camera. Especially yoongi, he said him and Jin r a lot similar and talk a lot with each other . Jin himself said I don’t like showing emotional parts of me cuz I don’t want ppl to be sad because I’m sad so he shows he’s fun bright self to make ppl and happy and not worry. And since his the oldest I get it as an older sibling I understand. Hobi is also the same as Jin in that sense. Also joon crying got me soooo baddd😭😭

I was waiting for your reaction Max!! I'm so glad you see what we see in our boys and why it hit us so hard. They need this break. We aren't going anywhere.

The self awareness of these guys is absolutely amazing. They know their impact and the ripple effects it causes indirect and direct parties from their actions, but they also understand that to keep doing what they're doing for all benefiting parties, they need to step away to figure things out and experience life so that they can make more music to what's important to them and their ideologies. They have always strived to be real artists and musicians and all that is evident in their music. This will be a good break for EVERYONE to realise just how much BTS carried the industry.

ever since yoongi's shoulder started healing after the surgery, and ever since their first concert after two years of not being able to perform, he's been so different. other things must have happened behind the scenes too. we're not completely sure what it is, but over the past 6-8 months, yoongi has become so much more passionate about life, about exploring his craft and learning new things. this break will only heal him and give him the space and time he needs even more. I'm so proud of him and I'm so excited to see everything he plans on sharing with us in the future.

As an army who's been here since 2013, I will always support them no matter what. Their music literally saved my life and it continues to encourage and give me strength when I have no motivation to keep going. Yes, they've always talked about wanting to release solo projects (just like the rap line have in the past) and have openly showed us snippets of them working on songs (tae is especially known for giving us spoilers for his songs). For me, rather than being sad they aren't promoting as a group, I'm excited for what they'll do as individuals. No matter what they choose, army will be there to support them. Also, I DEFINITELY cried a lot during this festa dinner bc it hurt to see them hurting so much. It hurts that they're afraid to disappoint us but I completely understand them. As someone who suffers from anxiety and depression, I constantly overthink even the smallest of things and being in their position with millions of people watching your every move, of course you'd be scared of making that announcement. Also, as an artist myself, burnout is not something easy to overcome, especially if you continue to work through it. The fact that they kept going for 2 years just to cheer us up during covid is very bittersweet bc I'm so thankful they care for us that much but at the same time it pains me that they had to push through all of that just for us. I truly hope they can take as much time as they need to grow as individuals and experience normal life. In all honesty, I'm more angry at the industry making bts feel like they can't take a break and that they'll disappoint army if they put themselves first. The biggest bs is that, after they have worked nonstop for 9 years (even more if you include years before their debut) bts are finally getting a well deserved break (which isn't even really a break bc the members will be promoting solo albums and are still working on projects), the chairman of the singers association publicly requested bts to reconsider the break bc of the financial impact it will have on the country like ??? It's just super frustrating bc korean media and companies constantly try to downplay bts' influence and accomplishments but as soon as bts want to rest for a bit, they're on their hands and knees begging for the group to come back bc they think that kpop will lose its global popularity For me, I don't really understand that seeing as I like many groups and will continue to support them just as I will continue to support the members of bts However, for someone to think they have the right to request bts to continue without a break when Namjoon literally talked about how the kpop industry doesn't let you have any time to mature as a person and want you to basically be a robot for them is absolutely ridiculous. These artists, "idols", are humans and deserve to be treated as such. Sorry this was longer than planned- basically I love the artists, hate the industry P.S. They need this time to develop and grow and to experience life as they want to, whether that be as individuals, or together, or both. They’ve been running for 10 years. They deserve the rest. They’ve earned the rest. I hope people understand this is not a breakup of a band. These 7 men love each other as family, and ARMYs as such. They *will* be doing full group activities again when the time is right. I am so thankful for them. Thank you for this reaction. 💜

Max, In your uncut reaction you wondered whether you have the right to comment on them due to your status as a new army. Your insight into their personalities as well as their communication and leadership skills is top notch. You notice things that I don’t or present your thinking and appreciation of the members in such an eloquent and thoughtful way. Please, don’t be shy about continuing to react to them and their music. 💜

As an oldest sibling, I may be projecting... but with Jin, I think a lot of his cautiousness with his words is about protecting others rather than himself. Also, people have mentioned before that Jin and Hobi are the most camera aware. When you know others are relying on you--be it the other members or the fans--you make sure you appear strong in front of them because you're their pillar. (Though with BTS, I think they're all able to lean on and support each other in different ways, which is part of what makes their bond so strong.) That's why you'll get a song like Abyss, where he'll say, "hey I wasn't feeling okay before, but I got help and feel better now, so you don't have to worry."

Yoongi finally has the mindset he wished he had back in In The Soop (his heart to heart with Jin). It now reflected in his speech here. Happiness, doing what you love and what makes you happy, not regretting anything, etc. Just wow.

I completely agree with your opinion on V. As the members themselves have said, Taehyung is very raw to the extent that sometimes he is overwhelmingly honest. He adores his younger self and is in touch with his childhood naivety. As someone who has been a fan of kpop for a long time now, I haven’t seen an idol as pure, honest, unfiltered as Tae. Wish him all the success for his solo endeavours ❤️

As soon as I watched festa I was like "aw man, I gotta see Max react to this"

When you said that Jin is not getting into touch so much of his deep emotions is actually very true but not in a sense of him not facing it but more like, he doesn't like showing it in front of the camera especially in front of ARMYs because he said that he only want to show his happy side in front of camera and he brings out his other emotions in his music. Often, his friends actually often says he's a quiet person off camera. This is what I actually like about Jin. He is a person I wish to be like who clearly knows his boundaries, still be himself yet also disciplined and knows the society.

Same sentiments about Jimin. Among the 7, I am the most concerned for him since he has always had this strong attachment with the members. Not to say, the rest do not, but I think in comparison with the others - he would have a longer adjustment period (I think).

honestly, I think I speak for 90% of army when I say none of us were genuinely upset at the thought of an extended break. they've gone on long breaks before, and we've always found ways to strengthen the bond within the community and have fun. we host listening parties and millions of us all around the world listen to, talk about and dissect their music together because there's endless interpretations of their lyrics. that's how much thought they put into their work. we have fun and joke around and rewatch their old content together. we make study plans and work plans together, we learn languages together, we improve out mental health and physical health together. through many shared experiences and frustrations, army have grown into something more than just a fandom. so no, the thought of our boys going away for a bit wasn't what was upsetting. what was upsetting was how tired they were, and how hard they'd tried to keep it together for our sake. what was upsetting was watching them break down and knowing they'd felt this way for years now but hadn't been able to do anything about it because they had to keep running. seeing them hurt is what hurt us, not the news.

About the tattoos: Jimin actually was the first to get (or at least to reveal) his tattoos. He has "Nevermind" written on his ribs, and he has some minor once - "young forever" above his elbows, "youth" behing his ear and 13 on his..wrist? And he recently got moon phases down his spine.

I think we are so used to seeing RM in full control that seeing him break down was a shock and heartbreaking but at the same time, it’s a useful reminder that he too has struggles and deep and sometimes painful things to deal with. It humanised him and reminded me of how young he is and that our expectations must have been a real burden at times. I want to apologise to him and give him a hug at the same time. I think real Army understand that they didn’t make this decision lightly and that it is genuinely the best thing for them at this moment in time. I look forward to their spectacular solo activities and will wait for when the moment is right for them to return as a group.

They looked so happy and light, on their Yet to Come performances for the Music Shows. There are too many performers who burn out, turn to drugs, or break under the pressure. This is such a healthy way for them to say, we need a break, we need a change. My hope is that other artists can follow their lead.

I don't know anyone who didn't at last tear up when namjoon was emotional. Thank you for reacting, and I'm glad to hear your thoughts on this. I think it's easier for older people and fans (age, not years supporting them) just because of the perspective afforded it. A 2 year break is nothing to someone in their 30s or older, but for younger fans in their teens it might be harder to accept just because 2 years is still a lot.

Max I really want to thank you for all of your sentiments in this video. I have been having a really hard time since this announcement, especially because I feel so guilty feeling sad for myself when it’s so clear they boys need AND deserve this break. Your video has given me a lot of comfort and a lot of hope. Just like Namjoon, you’re aware of your audience and I appreciate that you have treated this video with reverence, as it’s clearly such a sensitive topic. Like you said, they are a source of comfort to a lot of us and some of us feel a little lost in the wake of this announcement, but your video has helped me feel less lost and more hopeful for the future 💜

I think the hardest part for me was the guilt they feel (or RM) or like they will disappoint us. I never want anyone to feel like they can’t be happy or experience new things. I care about not just them as a group but individuals. Everyone deserves happiness whatever that looks like and sometimes that requires being selfish. I am happy for them.

Thank you for the reaction. I remembered watching it & was like, hey, what's happening? I burst into tears when i saw our always stoic Suga teared up at RM's ments, cos Suga was the most unlikely and unexpected person for me, to cry publicly. So i was like, why is every member so tensed, down & sad? Fast fwd few months later..everything was revealed bit by bit..starting from the very next day, JK telling the WWW, ARMY, we are NOT breaking up! in Busan, Suga saying, ya, the news said we were breaking up, WE NEVER SAID THAT. And finally before Jin enlisted, we knew, how hurt they were by the haters, and how they had planned to enlist after their 2020 world tour, but the pandemic happened, tour got cancelled, and enlistment got postponed. Imagine enduring that hate till Dec2023, abt 4yrs, it would have taken a toll on anyone's mental health! I understand Jin's ABYSS even more now. And i understand why Suga is like, i hv nothing else to write about, cos he completed his D-DAY album and was just preparing for his concerts, and most important, he completed Amygdala by this Festa, and he told Jimin in ITS, this song is part of my treatment, to revisit the painful memories and control them. So that's why in the Festa, he's the most relaxed there, he knew that he had closed that chapter of his life, the pain that still haunts him 1 or 1½yrs, but it's much more manageable now as he shared in Suchwita. Why did he tear up in the Festa? Like any musician, Suga is a sensitive soul. Your leader RM suddenly burst into tears, you know what he's not saying, cos he couldn't share them yet, all the burdens were hard to bear. Fast fwd to today, i am just so glad they finally were and are able to tell us more why they cried that day. And we as ARMY will wait for 2025. Yes, BTS ARMY forever. a couple days before this video dropped (and this would have been after their breaks had already began), they all came online together, for just 10 minutes. they sat around and joked together. we didn't understand it then, but in retrospect, it's obvious they were gently preparing army for the news. they were reassuring us that nothing had changed. personally, I hadn't seen them that happy and light-hearted for a long time before then. that tells me everything I need to know about how this break's treating them. they're happy, truly content. that's all we care about. that's all that matters.

3:23 you're right RM said it, Jin and Jhpoe are the ones who helped him to be grounded, I understand that Jin never shows his vulnerable side as a protection system,I think that in that sense he and Jhope are very similar

It was so painful but so necessary to hear these words coming from their hearts. We are sad but glad that they’re pausing the group activities to Care for their well-being. BTS taught us to Love Ourselves, now they are taking actions to Love Themselves First. They need to be Happy! They’ve worked super hard for 9+ years and their Solo endeavors will be successful! I can’t wait for BTS Chapter 2.

Oh, about your question on if any of the other members have tattoos, both jimin and jungkook have tattoos, jimin has about 7 tattoos, a spine tattoo, one on his ribs, two behind his arms, one on his wrist, one behind his ear and the new friendship tattoo on the inside of one of his fingers. Jungkook is tatted from shoulder to fingertips on one arm and has his new friendship tattoo behind his ear. As for what came of the friendship tattoos they all got the number 7 but in different spots

It was such a shock especially because we weren't expecting anything like that, such honesty and realness in expressing their feelings. After seeing this Army was sad but no because of them taking a break rather it was discovering how hurt they are and all the pressure they feel, we wish we could hug them and tell them that is okay and that we would never be dissapponted but we can´t do that and that make us feel so impotent. Also even if they are in a break they are still active in social media and updating us about their lifes so it doesnt feel like they dissapeared. Thank you for your reaction, interesting as always

This is just to answer some questions you posed during your video (thank you, btw - I truly love and appreciate all of your BTS reactions!) - Firstly, you asked whether ARMY knew that the boys were working on their own music, and yes, we did. I'm sure you know the rap line have all brought out their own mixtapes before and we kind of expected for the solo music of the other members to be released in that form as well. We heard them all talking about their own music many times before, we just weren't fully aware of the context that this would be happening in. - Secondly, you asked if Jungkook is the only member who already had tattoos, and no, he is not. Jimin actually has quite a few tattoos himself (even had them way before JK). And by now, all the members got their friendship tattoos done, too. We know Namjoon's is on the inside of his ankles, Jin's is on the left side of his waist, Hobi's is on the lower back of his calf, Jimin's on the inside of his ring finger, Tae's works as a nose for his mole elephant on his arm and Jk's is behind his ear. The only location that is unknown to us is Yoonig's tattoo. I also wanted to mention that even them going off into their solo careers before reuniting as BTS was mentioned before in another FESTA - they laid the whole concept of the 3 chapters (1st chapter together, 2nd chapter by themselves, and 3rd together again) out for us already. So, like others mentioned already, the only reason ARMY got so emotional over this video is because it clearly made all the members emotioinal and they entrusted us with some of their innermost feelings.

I am also a newer Army like you Max, and I have quickly discovered that BTS and Army does not care one bit! They always say that BTS finds you when YOU need them. That could have been 10 years ago or 10 days ago. BTS and Army welcome you regardless. I have come to appreciate them as sensitive, beautiful human beings more than just artists. I have never invested emotionally in a group like this since I was a teen. I truly care about them and only want to see them happy. The success is only important if it is important to them. And I want to tell you, Max, that I truly enjoy your videos. You are insightful and thoughtful. You never belittle anyone's mannerisms or feelings. Thanks for adding to what I enjoy already!!

I'm watching this at 5 am! That's how urgent this was for me 😂 haha thank you sir!!!! Your channel is one of my favorites. As someone who's introverted, terrible at communication and public speaking, I really enjoy watching people express their feelings and thoughts or just simply communicate with one another. I watch a lot of interviews, shows and content like this, and you analyzing them was the cherry on top that I never knew I needed! Hahah so thank you~

BTS have always been working on their solo music. Yoongi and RM have 2 mixtape each, Hobi have 1, Jungkook, V, Jimin and Jin all have solo songs. Jungkook have been working on his solo album for a few years, so is Tae. So, yes, we knew that. It's common for them.

Grateful 💜. Grateful was the word. I cried a lot the morning this was released. And while I'm certainly grieving a bit for the close of this first chapter, my feelings that morning were just overwhelming gratitude. That they would share these things with us, that we can witness these moments as they come. They planned to do this SO long ago, and have been waiting all this time, and the weight of that became a bit crushing. For me what I felt from Namjoon was such a release, of guilt & struggle & honesty. It was a long-overdue weight from his shoulders, I think. And once again, he set an example for all of us. ARMY twitter in those first couple of days was my favorite it's ever been. People honestly self-examining, asking where we've contributed to pressure on the boys, asking how we can use this 'break' to do for ourselves the things we've been putting off, to embrace growth of our own. It’s been such a fun journey watching your videos as you learned more and more about each member. When I watched this festa the first time I knew you would notice how much JK has matured. And RM breaking down is just hard to watch because it reminds us of how human they actually are. They are tired and worn out and deserve all the rest they need, ARMY will be waiting and cheering them on 💜

I haven't watch the Festa since it was released and again I'm crying. I can't help it... seeing them, specially Namjoon to be so sincere about his feelings and speaking from the heart, just makes me cry. I love the fact that they said it directly to ARMY and it was not through a message from their company. Thank you for your analysis!!

I really feel respected and grateful that they decided to tell us directly and be vulnerable to millions of people instead of going the easy way. It takes so much trust and love to do so specially when they knew a lot of people and media will twist their words. This video was hard to watch for army and not for the reason that they are doing solo activities or fear of disbandment, but that they have been feeling guilty and afraid of our reaction, I can't imagine the pressure they felt. We're really happy that they are getting their so much deserved rest

Actually the hardest part for us was to hear how much they were struggling. It was extremely painful to hear how lost they were and how much pressure they were under

In a way it's terribly heartbreaking to see that they have been struggling with these types of feelings of guilt for essentially coming to the conclusion that they might need to focus on their own wellbeing. I think it's safe to say that millions of us have been attracted to them and have stayed with them for so long for their acceptance. They dont pretend that everything is always perfect and they have let everyone know that struggling, feeling inadecuate, anxious, depressed or other negative feelings does not characterize you in a negative light and does in no way define the rest of your life. They bring such great comfort to all because they acknowlege the struggles that make everyone unique and they are capable of talking about them and encourage without being condescending. Will we be sad that we might not see all of them together making music? Yes, but at the same time we will also be able to see each of them grow and showcase all of the feelings they have been hiding and express themselves in a way that is unique to each of them. We'll be able to see what they all contribute to the group and how the combination of all of their talents and personalities fit into the group that we all have come to love. And more importantly, they will have the much needed time that they need to discover themselves, a time that they have also gifted each of us during their career.

With Jin I feel like he's keeping everything simple when talking about future plans is because he knows his enlistment is coming up and doesn't want armys (especially intl armys) to worry or get involved like they already do. At this point I think he just wants fans to know that's he resting well and enjoying this break until the enlistment announcement.

I have always felt that Jin was like the Mom, making sure they were all fed, up and moving, taking Jk to school in the early years and providing entertainment and positive vibes when the group needed it. RM is the dad of the group. He provides for them and protects them. Discipline them as needed and is their counsel. SUGA is like an aunt or uncle, providing backup to the parents as needed in taking care of the others and in their careers. Hobi is the big brother who's always there to play with the younger ones and to be a role model of what kind of adult behavior needs to be presented to the world.

When i first watched this, i git teary eyed yes but it’s more of a surprised feeling or unexpected for me from BTS. But now watching this again, makes me cry. I started sobbing from the moment RM talk right after Jimin. It’s heartbreaking for me that they feel guilty for even thinking of taking a break and doing the things they’ve been thinking of doing as individual. Of being scared to disappoint us ARMYs for wanting to grow as a matured person. They deserve everything in the world! They deserve to be happy in whatever they do. They are free to decide for themselves. ARMYs should understand, support, love and accept what BTS desides to do coz it’s the least we could do for everything that they’ve given us for the last 9-10 years. BTS are the most sincere, genuine, respectful and greatful artists i have ever known. I’m a 44 year old BTS ARMY and a mother of 2 kids and i’ve never been this attached to other artists and have a very strong love and respect… only with BTS! All BTS members are honest, understanding, caring and respectful. V and Yoongi are the type to say what they want to say. Yes, Jungkook have great respect and love for his brothers. V adores, respect and gets along very well with his brothers. Jimin is the most attached to BTS as group in my opinion. While Jin, Suga, JHope and RM are the most amazing older brothers the younger members could ever have! No matter what happens, even if it takes forever… ARMYs will always be walking along with BTS just like how Suga said during the Love Yourself era. BTSxARMYs forever! I think and this is just my own opinion, all the pressure, negativities, disrespect, unnecessary hatred, attacks and disregard for their talent, sincerity and artistry have taken it’s toll on them. We all have to understand that BTS started at a very young age and have been dealing with the cruelty of the industry since day1, without stopping so it’s very understandable why they needed a break from all of those just to remain as the 7 amazing people we all love today! Most of us actually fell iber heals inlove with BTS because they could always be their genuine self with us with the teust that we will love, support and understand them no matter what… with all their beauty and flaws!

It's naturally feel the burnout after such an intense work for years, but it requires a lot of braveness to accept it and do something before being destructed by these feelings. Its amazing how this young people can handle all these. They have a lots of internal resources, and thats a part of their greatness.

No matter how many times I watch this, the raw emotion they display makes me cry, every single time. I love that about them. The honest emotion.

From my perspective, Jimin and Jin suffered more with this decision. They accept for sure, but doesn’t mean they’re happy about it. Jin stay 4 days playing without eating properly for me was a signal something wasn’t ok, but to they decide go separate for while it’s because something very serious happens behind the scenes to force them to this. This guys love each other’s, no doubt!

I was waiting for this! I was shocked at the emotional responsibility they had to armys in releasing such a frank and honest conversation rather than simply tapering off the content bit by bit. Shows the respect and trust they have in us. As Namjoon said, this was content made for army, and they know that we would understand the desire to take a break. Yes, they deserve and need it. About Jin, I totally agree, you can see that he doesn't allow himself to go that deep into his emotions in front of the camera, but he does it in his songs. Everyone's honesty is admirable, and Namjoon allowing himself to just feel, oh, it's very special

They chose to share themselves with us, and I am thankful and the connection feels special. Watching this, I felt like maybe Jimin and Jin may take this turn the hardest, but then also imagined if they can each find their way through this without having to think about others’ happiness all the time, maybe they will end up contributing with their more distinct colors and powerful lines than they’re used to or comfortable, change the dynamics of the group and even impact the regular rapper-lyricists-producers, create more art that are deeply interesting and mature and unique as a result. I see the members doing solo things now, and I’m actually seeing how this way of having a news about one member one day and another member another day with the members bouncing off each other and overlapping with other artists is an efficient system. I realized how it must have been so taxing to do everything as 7 all the time, schedule-wise alone, and how this Chapter 2 thing may be the only way they can take a break, live their lives, feel their personal & individual feelings, and also disperse the insane media attention and public expectations to carve out a piece of sanity and any space at all. Also, the more I thought about this, the more I started to think so much was packed and communicated in their new songs for ARMY, and perhaps in their music their message is truest. These songs are what I come back to now, to understand. I trust Namjoon, his leadership and sincere intelligence, and I believe in Jungkook’s passion and his pure courage to always go forward and reach higher, and I have confidence in Suga’s understanding of the industry and steady hand. If there ever was magic in BTS, destiny in these 7 being on one ship, if they are to become a legend of their own thinking beyond the pedestal they’ve been placed, they can’t just walk the expected path and be satisfied but they have to be self-searching, experiment. take decisive measures and reach for the moon and real happiness. So, be it. Let them share the difficult process with their fans head on as directly as possible, and create something beyond the existing framework and boundaries. I also felt like maybe there are more that we don’t know and can’t see, and maybe they need the emergency exit now and it’s the smart choice. Let them take the exit before they’re reduced to something they can’t recognize. I hope they do whatever the heck they want. Go for it. There will be enough of us rooting for you, no matter what.

I remember when I watched it I didn’t cry a river bc I was sad. I was just sooo relieved to see them open up more as a 2015 army. They were always kinda open but this proved how sincere they are and how humble they are. I was so happy to see them talk about themselves. To me this never screamed a break up but the opposite. I knew this will be such a healthy chapter. Since then hobi, namjoon, jimin and yoongi released their solos and they’re brilliant. I love it so much. Can’t wait for more. Jin is currently still in military and the members would visit him. Can’t wait for his return and album, I think the military will kind of change him. I can’t wait for 2025! When the whole gang is back and sit down and talk to each other and army about their experience and journey. I‘m so excited for them.

My reaction when I saw this FESTA with BTS was that we ARMYS are their blessing but also their curse. This was heartbreaking to watch that they have to consider others feelings before themselves.

I remember being so excited for this Festa cos I just got into their music 2months prior and was ready for all the fun associated with Festa...... and then got this. My heart really broke, especially for Jimin's tears and RM's sobs. My heart broke at how guilty they felt and how uncertain their future seemed to them in that moment.

Taking some time to think when they felt lost ,so that they can stay true to their music n themselves makes me love them even more. It shows how much of a true artist each one of them is.

RM saying we won't see them gather like this for a while... Sounds like they will start military service. Having solo projects and pre-taped Run episodes will keep content going while they take turns enlisting. This is the "rules of the world" that RM feels burdened by. That they will finally put away this cloud that has weighed on them for years.

I know RM takes his relationship with ARMY deadly seriously. He has helped shape this international community of hope and friendship. And when they take a break, he feels like he's letting go of those ties that he created. Leaving us alone in the dark. BTS has been a light for so many young (and old like me!) people. I lost my dad to Covid the day before this came out, and then this.... I honestly did feel lost. It set me back a couple of days. Not that I expect these seven men to work themselves to the bone for ARMYS happiness. That's way too big a burden for anyone. I'm glad that they can take as long as they need (and their military service) to recuperate and see what life holds for them. I mean, they can't freaking date? How crazy is that!! They are in their 20's and they deserve to have a romantic life. And I kind of wonder what they might have experienced in America, that might have resulted in their becoming the face of the Anti Asian Hate movement. I can imagine it might have been horrible. So, best of luck to them. And thank you Max for making this video. As I watched FESTA I couldn't wait to see what you would make of it.

Change is scary especially for someone like me who have anxiety and have been a BTS fan for almost 7 years now So this was a really hard one for me it took me a few days to stop crying even tho I was happy for them and happy they took the decision that was better for them but I still have to go back to hear their own words saying they will comeback as BTS every time my anxiety decides to give me a hard time

I got emotional all over again. Now watching this back almost a year later, we all know how a few months later we were told BTS would be going into military service one by one. This was the part they couldn't be open about at the time, since it was such a sensitive subject in Korea and with the government. I still highly doubt that they are jumping for joy to attent, even while the members always expressed they would be honored to go when called upon, this service is mandatory. Army was really shook after this festa, mainly because we just don't want to see our guys unhappy, overworked or sad and exhausted. The media picked the whole thing up as a Break up! Which made Hybe stock go into freefall, and fans feeling panicked. Very soon after, JK came on live to explain ones again, this was just a pause. And that calmed the whole hype down. As we all know, Jin started his enlistment in december, and Hobi followed him recently. And seem to be doing well. RM probably be next pretty soon. Suga is sweeping they whole World of it's feet with his album and tour. Jimin and RM both made amazing albums, MV's and collabs. J- Hope turned into Jack and headlined Lolapalooza. Jin left us with the Astronaut. JK casually headlined the WorldCup and is now hanging from every billboard as a Calvin Klein model. V gave us the very entertaining reality series in Jinny's kitchen. Army is busier than ever to keep up. Allthough they all are doing such amazing soloprojects for us, and themselves, I can't help but miss them together so much. And Army just can't wait for all of them to be done with military and come back. I the meantime, we should show every member we support them and their projects, just as much as we would for the whole group. And I sincerely hope each of them will feel some more freedom and find new things and people to get inspiration from, while they are on this group-pause. I am happy they get this room to grow and experience new things. At the same time I, selfishly, feel happiest when I see them together. Apo Bangpo

Jin isn't obligated to cry in front of the camera just to satisfy people that he's "emotional" enough. He's perfectly in touch with his feelings if you ever read his solo interviews or songs and he's allowed to have his own bundaries on camera I'm tired of people demanding vulnerability And no offense but there are a lot of things you're not aware of and there's other reasons Seokjin can't let go about a lot of things on camera still like military service.

I’m so happy for them. This is a healthy next step. Imagine if they didn’t individuate themselves as people and remained as a whole forever. They would never be able to explore who they really are outside of their role in the collective as a group. The time they spend apart will solidify their bond and strengthen their team’s synergy. This is for the best. I trust their judgement.

Namjoon said even if we can't perform like we used to, which to me means that dancing at the intensity they do has an end from a physical viewpoint. A dancer like Jimin already has problems in his muscles.

I know this is like a month late reply, but I just wanted to say thank you for seeing it from ARMY’s side and understanding why many of us were sad. Of course, I am so so happy that they are taking the necessary steps they need to be happier and experience their own lives outside of BTS, only to come back together with new stories to tell, stronger than ever. But when I first watched this, especially with some translations that were not entirely accurate, I felt my heart breaking and I felt scared that they would no longer be there for me every week. Even when I learned that it was just a break and that ARMY would be getting a lot of really cool solo content from them for awhile before they came back as a group, I still felt sad. The boys first found me in summer of 2020, when COVID and lockdowns were in full swing and nobody could do anything or go anywhere. They helped me through that summer and the subsequent time I spent in my first year of university online, feeling like I was isolated from all of my peers. They were my friends and comfort during that time, and they played that role for me as a cohesive group. I now understand the situation more but even then, I was heartbroken because they were so scared of disappointing us. How could I be disappointed in the 7 men who helped me in so many ways and made two years of hell in quarantine feel more like a fun (if super long) sleepover with friends? I’m so glad that they seem to be embracing their break completely now and I’m so so ecstatic for JHope’s success with his new album and I will support every one of their individual projects. Sorry for the long comment, but I’ve seen some reactors who have said that this is not a big deal and they can’t see why ARMY were so sad or concerned and that made me feel really bad, like I had overreacted. But you managed to empathize with how we might have seen this video and acknowledged our feelings about it without even knowing each of our stories that could explain why we were impacted in such a way. So thank you for engaging in BTS content and understanding why they have made such an impact on so many people’s lives. And thank you for understanding BTS’s point of view with this break and ARMY’s point of view for feeling a bit heartbroken and sad for a little while.💜

Yay I was ao looking forward to your analysis of this! I agree that this was an emotional roller-coaster but a very special festa dinner. We are so lucky to be fans of a group that is so real with us and respectful of what they mean to their fans.
