Excellent job. The consumer should never have to do all this. Shame on Maxx Fan. They need to go back to the drawing board and re-design their product to make it reliable.

Is there any reason I can’t replace the board with a double pole double throw center off switch so I don’t have to do this over and over again?

U kidding me.. I maxxfan deluxe is only a few months new and it’s beeping every 5 seconds and then reversing. Strange right? We put electrical liquid tape on the board before install.

Sorry to hear your trouble and I didn’t expect this to happen as well. Write to maxx air and send them your serial number they will send you a new board and motor. The reason your fan was beeping was because of excess voltage. Do you use a lithium battery? The board on the fan can't handle the higher voltage of lithium batteries. If your fan hasn't given you problems since this fix, your lucky. Install a DC to DC converter to the power in on the fan so it only gets 12v.

These lifepo4 batteries max at 14.4 which is lower that he alternators voltage output. Each lithium chemistry can have a different voltage output but come on this is an inherent defect.

Half this video is completely unnecessary! You do need to go up top at all. The board is accessible from inside. You even expose the same part of the fan when you are below. Just drop 4 screws behind the vent and the one holding the knob in (pull the knob) and the board is accessible from inside the van. Never cut both conductors at the same time. Cut one, move it aside, cut the other. That way if you are completely wrong about your assumptions and are cutting a live circuit you don't short it and damage things.

After 2 blown PCB and a blown motor, I finally put a dc to dc voltage regulator on it. They say they fixed it, but I doubt it. The fan is a great idea, the company is junk though.
