Those were wonderful. Great job! They look better than they probably did new. I’m glad you didn’t paint the flowers again it looks so much better in plain black. The floral design pops now. Before it looked kind of tacky.

Hi Jimmie, it was a discussion I had with my customer and she wanted it back to original. The coloured flowers on the ‘before’ piece were obviously painted by someone DIY style. 😀😀👍

In the States, we have this stuff called Break Free. There are a number of penetrating oils to loosen rusted/stuck parts, and they are better than WD40 in my experience. I enjoy your videos!

I love watching you transform trash into beauty and function! One small suggestion - try a product called PB Blaster for loosening seized screws and bolts. Works a thousand times better than WD 40

We have a similar set of garden furniture. My husband renovated ours two years ago. I lost count of swearing words he used (In finnish language we have lots of them!) The bolt holes were all over the place. So much for chinese quality work!

This is a beautiful restoration. You got rid of the tacky color painted roses, and the walnut stain is an excellent choice with the traditional black wrought iron. The details featured in this video, especially the shaping of the wood slats before they were stained, illustrate such a wonderful attention to details that others might have missed. I love watching your videos, and I’m sure your client is very happy with the quality of your work.

Hi Lorraine, firstly thanks very much for subscribing, it really helps my channel to continue going. I know for a fact the customer is going to use these chairs outside but I'm confident they will last. The finish on the wood is a waterproof external varnish that is UV resistant so shouldn't need any work doing to them for many years. 😀😀👍

Thanks for giving these a go. I love wood and wrought iron furniture. I can see why someone had been tempted to paint the roses and leaves but they do look much better just plain black. I think it's interesting how the top two roses petals were beautifully defined and the bottom rose was basically a swirl. Now to have someone over for a cup of tea!

I don't know why I thought you were goibg to convert the 2 chairs into a bench, but the chairs came out beautifully! I like that kind of outdoor seating, and with them beibg a bit wider, they might getcalong better with my thighs (normally chairs with arms and I don't get along very well....lol).
