Mayim Bialik joins Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager to talk about stepping behind the camera to direct her new movie “As They Made Us.” She also talks about finding her groove as a “Jeopardy!” host and doing her podcast “Mayim Bialik's Breakdown” with her boyfriend. Bialik sticks around for a game of Neuro vs. Nonsense so she can put her training as a scientist to the test!

I loved her on The Big Bang Theory and I watch Call Me Kat, but I don't like her as Jeopardy host. It's so annoying when she says, it's a daily doulble, or there's a daily double, like she's surprised when they come up. It just doesn't seem that being a game show host comes naturally to her, she's a much better actress.

she's great in jeopardy, go back and look at alex r.i.p. he did the same thing. leave that woman alone. she's went to school for 12 yrs, including our 12 that we all go thru. let her enjoy it. she has something to be proud of. you are nick picking, ask yourself why? you could go to school, it;s never too late. she's very smart, be happy for her, i am and im old enough to be her mom but believe me, i look up to mayim. ive never said that about a wht person, her smile is contagious

@@d.d.p.parker3671 That's good for you that you look up to her and criticizing me doesn't make her a good host for jeopardy, because she's not. And Alex would "always" say which daily double it was. He set a really high bar for the next host and she doesn't quite reach it.

She was good on The Big Bang Theory, but I agree she is awful as the host of Jeopardy. There's always a long pause when she's confirming a response, she clearly doesn't know the answers to most of the clues (which she admitted to), she freaking calls the Jeopardy round "single Jeopardy". Her knowledge of the game is very poor. She doesn't appreciate knowledge or trivia and didn't grow up watching Jeopardy. Ken is a magnitude better!

I didn’t like her on Jeopardy either and I love Call Me Cat because of Leslie Jordan and Swoozie Kurtz .

I like her, but I wish when asked a question, the hosts would actually listen to the answer. Most of this is 3 women talking at the same time.....annoying.

She’s awesome as the cohost of Jeopardy! She’s used to being in front of the camera but doesn’t take advantage of the show to chew the scenery or front.

Big fan and I'll have to say but I wish Mayim could go for president someday life wouldnt hurt to have a neuroscientist with ph degree being a president. My reason here is shes always surrounds herself within her passion of education and oddly thats what kind of a president thats needed not elderlys creating a crisis every year

Lousy Jeopardy host. BTW, when they introduce her, Gilbert says "And now the host of Jeopardy, Mayim Bailik"..When he introduces Ken Jennings, He says "And now hosting Jeopardy Ken Jennings"..a small but noticeable difference. Jennings is the best BY FAR. They need to ditch her.

Mayim is the main host, but Ken is a producer. He's still getting paid. I actually think they have similar styles.

The obsession with the Jeopardy hosting gig is baffling to me. The focus should always be on the contestants and trying to match wits with them and being amazed by their brilliance. Anybody making the host the most important part is surely missing out on all the fun.

i love her too. her mind and her smite. ppl hate her cus she's smrt. we all had the same chance to go further with our education, she did so they hate her. i did 12 yrs i could've done the same thing but too busy doing me. im happy for her

I stopped Jeopardy all thanks to Sony ruining the show. She’s terrible and needs to be dropped ASAP. But Sony already has destroyed this great game show. If Ken Jennings isn’t the permanent host then forget It I won’t ever watch jeopardy again ever.

I believe it is not Sony that is "ruining" the show but these whining "fans" who keep on complaining for nothing at all.For a supposedly educated show,it is getting more and more irritating.

No your wrong it is Sony that has ruined it. Sony couldn’t wait until Alex Trebek died before they destroyed this once great game show. Heck take a look at what’s been happening with wheel of fortune lately there’s even lots of problems with that game show more then it use to have. Both of these game shows were great back in the day but not anymore. I clearly put the blame on Sony.

@@fredreed2001 Well I may be wrong,but in what way are they exactly ruining it?Don't you think they are also doing their best to actually meet "your" demands, while at the same time preserving the integrity of the show?It is easier for us to criticize because we are not in the reins,so while we are at it let us at least make sure our criticisms are helpful because other wise, just keep it.

We enjoy her acting, but unfortunately she has made Jeopardy unwatchable in our house between her gyrations and robotic hosting. We're 35+ year viewers and will quit watching if Ken doesn't get the permanent nod.

Agree. She says "that's correct" a lot of the time and it sounds VERY robotic...also, there is a very slight pause before she rules on an answer, like she has to "think about it" (not fully prepared)...its very subtle, but its there...just enough to make you think she really doesn't know the answers ahead of time. Annoying.

Seems like Alex Trebeck would be very disappointed in all these petty personality issues from so-called fans who have lost all perspective on the game. It's a show about the contestants and their brilliance, not the host. You're just spoiling your own fun.

Just finished watching todays episode (4/6)...no better....She must have said "that's correct" in her robot voice 3 dozen times...Ugh!...I'm with you...its really starting to grate on me..and its becoming unwatchable.

Ken Jennings has an army of trolls that are on KZfaq and instragram to daily berate Mayim. I’m not saying ALL are trolls but there’s a lot of bullying toward Mayim. She’s a strong woman. I wish her much success. She’s earned it.

@@brianmorrow4729 Opinions are not facts.The rate of bullying in the Jeopardy page is undeniable and very disappointing considering how Jeopardy is supposed to be an educated show.(P.s I understand your opinion/preference :).This applies to both hosts as well as to anyone)

It's not bullying and it's not sexism because I can assure you both men and women who are passionate about the show are fairly criticizing Mayim. She's simply not qualified to be the host of a show that champions knowledge and trivia. She didn't even grow up watching the show and clearly doesn't understand the game. Alex knew 70% of the clues. I expect the host to be somewhat knowledgeable.

I do not like my Ms Bialik. I have watched Jeopardy for many many years. I know that it is impossible to replace Alex trebek. But this lady is going to ruin this show. She is not cut out for it. Ken Jennings was growing on me and I like him the best. Now when Jeopardy comes on and I see this mayim bialik on there I changed channels.

3:30 One of the things I liked most when Mayim Bialik was trying out to become the host of Jeopardy was the brightening in her voice whenever a contestant would offer a response that merited that sort of reaction. Now we hear that producers are urging her not to do that. Producers stink. Frankly, that is sexist. If a man brightened his voice, would that be getting notes from heavy-handed producers? Mayim, I hope you go back to being your “amazed” self.
