Thank you! Just fixed my Maytag Neptune 2005 dryer with a $27 part from Amazon by myself!! Part on Amazon-Azdele Store- Samsung Dryer Heating Element DC47-00019A. Reviews say the replacement parts go bad annually but this was second time for us and the first replacement last 3 years. Well worth the money. Dryer is super hot again. THANK YOU!!

Aaron, Thank you so much for this video. We have the exact dryer with the no-heat symptom. After watching your vid and testing, ours had the same failure as yours. I was able to pick up an entire spare parts kit off "the jungle". Turns out this same kit fits MANY dryer models out there. The kit cost $18+ and came with all three thermostats, the thermistor as well as the heating element. Now our dryer is working again and I have spare parts if it gives out again.

This was a perfect video. My dryer decided to stop heating. Great Fathers Day present. 12 yr old Maytag Neptune model MDE9700AYW, the same as in this video. Followed the same steps and mine ended up being the heating element itself. Part #: 35001247. Found a local shop that had the part. $88 and about 30 minutes of re-assembly and it was working great. Much appreciation. You saved me a lot of time and money.

Outstanding video, thank you. BTW the part you replaced (apologies to the chat if this is mentioned earlier) is the thermal fuse, not the thermistor. My multimeter detected good sensors on the heating elements but there was a bad thermistor where you found those coming off the motor/venting. It is still all apart and I will be putting back together in the next little while.

When i took off the little panel in the back and pulled off the vent tube i said the same thing as you did...thats awful going to get my shop vac. At that point i realized the element was most likely in the front but i could not figure out how to get the front panel off. Thats when i started searching videos. Hmmm. If all the components check out, my next step would be to check the voltages at the components while the unit is operating. I don't recommend this as there is a lot of 240V stuff down there you can get hurt on. Only other thought is to confirm that you have 240V power coming to the unit and you didn't have a breaker fail and start to cause the unit to single phase.

My solution to my 220v Electric Maytag Neptune MDE5500AYQ not heating at all. It turned out to be my Jumper Wire from the insulator to the High-Limit Thermostat was burnt and disconnected at the female terminal. I suspect in the past before I had the dryer it had taken a lightning strike that had it barely holding on and finally gave out. I put a new terminal on it..ran the dryer and kept feeling the wire, it never got hot so that is all I can think of as to why. I tested continuity on the high limit thermostat, cycling thermostat, thermal fuse and all was good and so was the thermistor @ 77 degrees fahrenheit it was 10k ohms.

I've noticed sometimes that the new parts don't last too long. Only thing I can suggest is double check all the resistances on the new parts and see if they might have suffered infant mortality. If they are all good. It could be an actual board issue but I've never tried diagnosing that.

On my Maytag the sticker with the information is inside the door jamb. If there's nothing there, I'd suggest repairclinic.com . They have a lot of good ways to search for information and parts. Good luck! Thanks!

Hello, I have watch this video over and over. I have change the thermistor and th1 and checked th1 and th3 and Heater. Sometimes I get 0.0 readings on the Th is that normal? I also keep getting on the screen display a code looks like an E5 but the “E” top line of the “E” is missing so it makes it look like a “F” upside down. Can you help me in finding out the code list.

Hello, did you say that if that switch goes bad, the dryer stops working?
@aaronsrose
@aaronsrose 5 жыл бұрын
Howdy! Pretty much any failure of any small electrical piece of this machine will cause it to throw a code and probably stop working. Thanks for asking!

Hey Aaron, wondering where you found the manuals that show the Ohm readings? Thanks a bunch!

The manuals actually both came with the unit when I bought it new. You may be able to find what you need here www.maytag.com/services/manuals.html Good luck!

Hi Charles. I no longer have the dryer but let me do some digging and I'll see if I can find a schematic that might help.

Still looking for a schematic. At 6:34 and 11:30 in the video, there are pretty good shots of the wires as they should be attached. Maybe that can help in the interim. Good luck.

How do you take the thermostat out of the bracket it sits in. What tool did you use?
@aaronsrose
@aaronsrose 4 жыл бұрын
The part I ordered came attached to the stand off bracket. Otherwise it was just two screws to remove from the housing. Thanks!

How do I run a diagnostic test on it? To show me a code.
@aaronsrose
@aaronsrose 5 жыл бұрын
Howdy! Generally, if there is a problem the unit will throw a code on the screen during a cycle. There is a service mode you can get into though. I'd try this link: manualzz.com/doc/1515345/maytag-mde9700a-troubleshooting-guide It is a factory troubleshooting guide for this dryer and on page 11, there seems to be the Service mode entry and use instructions.

Hey so what if the transistor is 66 ohms? Could that cause the machine to not start?

I'm not 100% certain but if it is out of the specified range, it is possible that it may not run. Thanks!
