The F6E2 error code which is similar to the F6E3 error. Both mean the control panel and the relay board are not communicating.
In this case the washer was not working. You could not turn it on to even get any lights on the display. You could get into diagnostic by picking 3 button and cycling 123-123-123. That’s how we got the error codes.
Diagnosing this issue you will want to make sure the main board is sending the correct voltage to the panel. The green blinking light is the indicator that that is working. I did double check, but did not get it on video, that the unit was giving 12vdc to the control. I suspected the control panel was the problem since the power button was not working and could get into diagnostics. We got the control panel W11112656 and installed it and it now works like a charm. There may be cases where you need both parts. As long as you see that blinking green light you can assume the main board is okay.

Hey, thanks a million. The repairman told me today that I needed a new control board. This was going to cost me $550.00 for my Maytag Bravos XL Washing Machine to get working again. Thank YOU!! I cleaned the circuit panels with a Qtip and alcohol as someone else suggested and my washer works now ..didnt have to replace the UI panel board. Your video helped me know exactly how to remove parts to access these and clean it. It was corrosion from moisture!! This and the another video I watched helped me fix my washer for the price of just some elbow grease and a re qtips! 😊 Thanks for this vid!!

Thank you! We had the E2F6 error. Tried unplugging and plugging back in. Worked a few times until ultimately the power would not come on at all. We just replaced our used interface console using your video. Install went perfectly and machine ia now working great.

Thanks for the video. I also had F6 E2 error. I was able to clean some electrical contacts with Q tip and alcohol (as instructed in the KZfaq video "Maytag Brovos XL won't start won't turn on error code F6 E2 / F6 E3" and the washer worked again. Try this before replacing any parts.

Thx! I was getting E2 E3F6 codes. Took of control unit and cleaned up the chip board at the controller connect and no more codes. Life is good again.

Thanks for the video. I was able to repair my washer. Unfortunately this is the second time I had to replace the control panel. The parts company sent me a replacement free of charge after the first replacement stopped working after one year.

Since last week i was on the verge of replacing my washer for the same reason " No display on the panel, non of the functions worked, error code F6,E2". After doing some research and nothing to loose, i opened the front panel , cleaned all visible circuit points, especially one which had a build up of oxide, i had to really scrape it out with alcohol and cleaned with Deoxit. Guess what, it started to sing :) . I saved big time. So try it it out before replacing the panel or the whole unit.

You don't need a whole new Control Panel. Once you get the top off, where the wires connect to the control board there are 4 small contacts that just need to be cleaned with alcohol really well to get the corrosion off. That little area is open to the steam and heat that is created by the washer and just needs to be cleaned. Save yourself $500 or more. Try this FIRST!

Also, just for anyone watching this video who doesn't want or CAN'T spend the money on a new panel - After taking the back cover off of the unit, and looking at it FROM THE BACK on the left side, you'll see a row of exposed rectangular contacts. I've found that if I get a q-tip with alcohol and clean those contacts, the panel begins to function again. This mainly works when the machine won't power on at all. If it's flashing the error message, there's too much humidity so let it air out, wipe down the contacts and you should be good to go.

Thank you for the video! I have the same model and also had the code pop up, how ever I was able to fix the front panel without buying another one. After unplugging the front panel cable from the control board, I looked at the front panel separately. I unscrewed the back of the front panel, and took a look at the circuit board. I saw some burned spots and my first instinct was to clean it with some isopropyl alcohol. After cleaning, I plugged it back in and it was functional again.

I also unscrewed my panel from the back, of the big white plastic part, but there's another white plastic part molded over the circuit board. Did you break this out of the mold? I can see that it looks burned or discolored, but I can't get to it. I have absolutely no power or response from mine, so I'm sure it's more than shot, but I'm curious how you got to the circuit board.

@@katielassig7200 After I removed the entire front panel, on the back of it has several screws that hold the back to it. The circuit board did have molding/glue that prevented me from seeing the whole board. Though, from the little slot that showed parts of the board, I was able to see the burn marks on three little notches.

+1 to cleaning the circuit board with rubbing alcohol. I didn’t remove the back of the front panel, simply cleaned the exposed part of the circuit board you can see where the wires go into it. Voila! Fixed!

Just an FYI to everyone.. You can slide a credit card/gift card/rewards card under the front corners of the panel to take it off without having to lift the lid up. I removed my front panel this way after looking at the clips the first time. Just takes a little force, but does save some time.

You can use a three-quarter inch putty knife or what I’ve done is I’ve taken a cheap flimsy butter knife from the dollar store and ground down the tip of it to make it flat that’s what I use and keep my toolbar every day, I’ve never seen anyone take these things apart to pop the panel off, But then again I’m sure there are plenty of things I do that others techs think is weird ! Good day, I have this exact model and I am getting a F5E2 error code! I opened the top of the unit as u did in this video and removed the locking mechanism, I then serviced the contacts to rid of any corrosion... but I am still getting the same error code! What would you recommend I do next ?

Great video. I was able to fix mine with no part replacements. After watching this video ai noticed that there was some oxidation/corrosion next to the plug on the circuit board of the user interface control. I cleaned it of with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol then put a small piece of scotch tape over it to protect it from oxidation. That was all it took. Time will tell if this is actually a long term fix or if I just got lucky for now.

Some food for thought, my washer uses a different control panel eventhough it looks almost the same. My panel # is W10894756, the model of the washer is MVWB765FWO. Difference that I saw it has a deep fill on/off button.

As some others have said I did the Q-tip/alcohol clean and seem to be up and running again. This will be the 3rd time in four years to do this. Symptoms the other 2 times were no response at all from interface...would not turn on.

However, before I go and order a full user interface for $250, have you ever tried just replacing the wires that connect it to the control board? I'm not an electrician but it seems like if it is a communication error, wouldn't the issue reside in those wires? Thanks for your help!

Wires really don't cause that many issues unless you can visibly see damage. Like if you see it crushed or split open.

Hey guys I have a similar Maytag washer and thought this part was bad and bought a new washer because the part would not be available fast enough and it’s like 200$ some dollars so my washer been setting in my garage about week unplugged and just for kicks I plugged it up and bam user interface is working just fine it wouldn’t change cycles with the knob and if you pressed a button it would make the noise but verify the press no it appears all is well with it just might try leaving it unhooked for a while

Do you know if this is a common problem with this particular unit? I bought one a few years ago for my previous home. Had the control panel die and changed it. Moved to a new home and unfortunately the exact same washer dryer was in the new home. I have changed the control board once last June and it's doing the same thing again now! Just won't turn on. Yeah i got MVW7230HW F6E3 and its literally killing me not being to able to fix this washer that we have had for like 2 years. Replaced the clutch and now we are getting the F6E3 so IDK what it is. It will turn on fine, but when doing a load it will sense and then complete without washing.

I had some weird bugs with interface panel. I could not shut down the machine, cycle time stood still when I turned the knob. Followed these steps and went further by unscrewing the back panel of the interface module. I saw black carbon between two copper contacts. Cleaned it with alcool. Put it back together and it worked back ! No need to replace the module. For the moment...

our washer wouldn't power up. Did the reset and it powered up and started but before it starts a spin dycle it stopped and showed the Error numbers F6 E2. It will come on again if you reset it and if you reset it a few times you can eventually get it to complete the cycle. I think it is the interface board. Any ideas?

Same washer but no error code is popping up, randomly stops and the start button light flickers and u have to press it to start again, and other issue is the controls just freeze up and dont respond, i have to unplug it let the power fully die plug it back in and start it and not touch it for about 10 seconds for it to start responding again, any help on these would be appreciated

Hey, thanks for the video, very helpful! I have the same issue and paid a tech to come diagnose before finding your video, he said he thinks it's the board, however, I have a blinking light, and I'm able to get it to come on the way you did in the video...thoughts?

That blinking light means that 12vdc or it may be 5vdc (I’d have to look at the tech sheet to verify) is present on the main board. That is what the user interface runs off of. When you have a miscommunication error like these it could be one or the other. All the times I have seen this the user interface has been the culprit. I believe I have seen 3 of these and every time it’s been the UI. I would start with the UI and if that don’t work to get the main board. Especially if you are experiencing the exact same thing in the video. Good luck and sorry for the delay.

Hi we have the same machine, it powers on fine, the lid locks then it trips our GFCI. I replaced the GFCI receptacle and it still trips at the same point. Any suggestions on this?

Sounds like your lid lock may be shorted to ground. Could be that or the motor. Do you ever see or hear the motor turn? Could be something there as well. You can rule out the motor if you disconnect the harness from the motor and see if it still trips. If it does you have to look somewhere else for the problem. If it don’t you need to replace the motor. Finding shorts can be a pain. Good luck!

I have this exact same washer. Bravos XL from Maytag and it suddenly doesnt beep anymore when select a wash cycle or when cycle has ended. I may have turned off the sound accidently, if that is even possible. Is there a way to test if I turned off the sound? How can i get my washer to signal beep again? Anyone who knows, please let.me know.

Jamming your meter into the harness connector expands the terminals and will cause future problems.

Can cause issues yes. I always squeeze the connector afterwards to get a better connection. Never had a call back due to a bad connection I have caused.

So my console doesn't do anything and the door is locked as I was doing some wash. I plugged a fan into the socket and it worked, so I know the washer is getting power. I pulled the console off and I'm not seeing the blinking green light you mentioned on the control panel when plugged in. So does that mean that part is what's bad? Can't believe it would go out only after 6 months.

If it’s only 6 months old it’s under warranty. Call the manufacturer and they should send someone out to fix it at no cost. Sound like a bad main board though.

If you can it will tell you how In The tech sheet. Without that I can’t tell you if there is a reset or not. If you can pop the top panel up. Inside the front panel on the top left there is a bag with a book in it. That is the tech sheet. Browse through it and see if it has a reset. It may or may not.

If I remember correctly. You enter diagnostic with 1-2-3 that times 3 you will get beeps and lights and such. Whatever button shows you the error codes. I want to say it the first one. I could be wrong might be the second or the third. You hold it down for 3 seconds and it should clear the code. Once you find the one that shows the error codes. On that same sequence hold that one down and it should clear them. Hope this makes sense and sorry I do it know it off the top of my head. Good luck!

Find the tech sheet and verify the code and what it means. Just with a quick google search it says it’s a shifter fault so I see why you replaced it. Find the tech sheet and do the tests separately. There should be a agitation test and a spin test. When you do those verify the shifter moving. If it doesn’t you may be looking at a control issue that or a wire harness issue.

We purchased a house with this washer. It turns on, and acts like its going to run the cycle, locks the door, then doesn't fill with water. We have tried to get codes but all the mothods we've seen in videos do not put it in diagnostic mode. Green light blinks, door locks, display tells us how long the cycle should be, all buttons respond. We're confused and don't want to just throw parts at it. Any ideas what we can do??

Make sure the water is turned on. If it was empty when it was in the market they may have turn the water off to prevent and potential water damage. Check that first.

When you enter diagnostics with 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3. If you hit the second button that you used to enter diagnostics that should take you to auto test. You will have to hit the start button to start the test though.

My brand new Maytag top load HE washer is a complete lemon. when i wash bedding it makes these horrible banging noises, requires me to babysit the machine while it refills the basket TEN TIMES or more trying to "rebalance." using way more water than an old school washer. when i wash clothes they leave soil residue in the creases of the clothes. I have used this washer for over a year and every single time i try to wash a cotton blanket or cotton comforter it makes these horrible banging noises and even after repositioning the items multiples times it still fails to balance EVERY TIME. and when the machine tells me it's done the blankets are still soaking wet and smell like sweaty soiled clothes because it never gets properly agitated or spun/drained. The machine tells me it's done but the clothes smell like sweat and dead skin and are dripping wet, obvious signs of a deficient washer. can't clean and can't spin dry. so now i'm drying a soaking wet blanket for over THREE HOURS in the dryer that smells like dirty clothes because the washer told me it is "done" because it simply stops attempting to spin after multiple attempts. I cannot wait for a class action lawsuit against Maytag top loader HE washers, they are the worst in the world. I will never buy anything Maytag as long as I live and will tell everyone I talk to about how bad Maytag is. NEVER MAYTAG, THE WORST BRAND OF WASHING MACHINE EVER MADE. I cannot wait until the class action lawsuit arrives. Maytag you deserve what happens to you for selling a lemon, you complete and utter scumbags. AVOID MAYTAG AT ALL COSTS. Also their dryer is way too hot at the "low" setting, burns my clothes. worst company ever. and they don't even honor their heavily advertised warranties because MAYTAG is complete scum.

I took mine apart because it was not powering on. I confirmed that the outlet works. I took it apart and I dont have the blinking light... could it be the electronic control board? Any way to test that?

Make sure your washer is getting power. Make sure your plug has correct voltage. If that checks good your looking at your main board. If power in is good and power out is not than that’s what you need.

Ok I replaced the board and now the display works, however, now its giving me an error code of "F7 E5" I ran a manual diagnostic and it does agitate, but it doesn't spin. Any idea? From what I've sene online, it might be the shift actuator but this model doesn't seem to have one.

Hi I have the same washer. My issue I’m having is when you turn it on you can’t do anything but turn it back off. All it does is beep when trying to select anything else. Also it will stop halfway through the cycle like you hit pause. I have no codes or error. Please help me. Maytag won’t help me.

I believe you have a bad lid lock. Ran into one of these and thought it was a bad board, replaced both actually. Still same problem. Lid lock fixed it. I remember the auto test wouldn’t start either in diagnostics. I would put money on it! Let us know if the lock takes care of it for you.

I can turn mine on but sometime turning the dial it stays in one spot and makes a beeping noise when turning. I finally get to a setting and press the start button the sensing light comes on then off real fast and timer blinks faster than usual. Then nothing works. Hit power button and that just blinks real fast and have to unplug it to go out. I cant even do the three button code. Any ideas

That usually means there is nothing wrong with the machine. Whatever issue you’re having make sure your check your use and care manual to see if it’s something you’re doing wrong.

My issue is that the only button that works is the Power button it only turns on and off, the dial doesn’t move to any other setting except normal and I don’t even get error codes, none of the other buttons work at all and I tried unplugging it but it still doesn’t work

Sound like a bad key pad. Have to make sure the UI is getting the voltage though. If it is getting the voltage I would try the UI to see if that will fix it for you!

do not get error code. power button turns machine on but the light for the cycle just blinks and machine wont turn on when I press the other button

Choose any 3 keys and do 123-123-123 sequence all lights should light up next an error will appear. Use the 3rd key you used in your 123 sequence press it and hold it it should erased all codes and read 888

He is simply testing continuity following the wires one by one. Just making sure wires are not damaged.

I have the same f6 e2 code on my washer. I have nothing turning on at the display and when I unplug it wait a few minutes and plug it in the plug sparks. Came to the conclusion the board was bad and saw this video and have that same flashing green light. Could it be the board or could it be the control panel?

Could be either or. I’ve had good luck with just changing out the user interface. If that don’t work get the main board next. More often than not it’s the ui. They run around $300 each.

little fyi you can use your old control board all you need to do is clean the corrosion on the copper right by the wire connector with a q tip and alcohol. Let it dry and enjoy!
