My daughter told me to look up how to repair my washer on You Tube since I was having issues with my Maytag washer. Well lo and behold, this video walked me through all the steps and I fixed my washer myself; and I am a 64 year old woman. Thank you for this video. Saved me $ I really couldn't afford to spend. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

To all who cleaned the filter and still had issues. I cleaned filter several months ago and still had issues. Tonight, I removed the hose between the bottom of the tub and the inlet to the filter housing. Inside this black funnel shaped flexible hose I found 2 socks, lots of lint, a necklace, and a few bobby pins. That should do it!
@pamplonica

How do you access that, from the back?
@elmachin2
@elmachin2 7 жыл бұрын
From the front. If you go to 2:54 he is vacuuming the water going into the pump. The water is coming out of the funnel shaped hose. I took that off and found lots of junk inside. I was amazed that 2 size 9-13 socks could get in there but they did!

Thank you so much!!!! I was battling this for awhile, given that i'm a new home owner ...and very new at taking care of my appliances. Just to get a grasp of the logic of this problem..... I'm lucky it was a simple clog from the pump. but you may want to consider that the pump motor is going out... as well... i'm no expert, but this video simply gave me an idea where to look and what to consider. Thank you again

Erica F9 E1 means that the washer isn't draining properly. There is a drain catch inside the washer that you will want to access and clean if you're getting this drain error. To access the drain catch, lean the machine backwards and lean it against the wall at a 45 degree angle or so. Remove the 3 screws along the bottom of the lower front panel. The lower front panel will pull down and off. There is a 3" diameter plastic twist cap directly under the tub mounted to the floor.

Like Erica, I too already did this. Took out all the debris, yet it will still not drain properly and shows the error code at the end of a wash, what is another likely diagnostic?

I have a Maytag Intellisense front load washing machine. If after cleaning the filter and sump hose between the drum and the pump and if the not draining issue still exist, check if there is a float switch in the bottom pen when you take the back cover off (it's in the middle of the bottom and two wires going to it). If there is water in the bottom pen the float switch (usually a Styrofoam disk) will rise pushing the little micro switch above it and shutting the drain pump off. The code will tell -not draining (they should have had a a separate code for the float switch) and you go like crazy taking everything apart except looking at this switch. Sometimes there is a slight leak and when enough water accumulates under this switch you can't even see it because the disk covers it, but it's enough for it to rise and to press the micro switch to shut the pump off prompting the machine to send the no drain code. (stupid, there should be a separate code for float switch). So, before you start taking everything a part, check the float switch by taking the back panel off. If you can't get to it in a couple of days there might be a chance the water dries out and the machine will work until the dimple where the float switch sits in fills again.

Followed the instructions to the "T" and found a hair curler, a baby sock, and a plastic stick. smh! The error was a F21 error code on a maytag 4000 series

I purchased this washer and dryer 7 months ago and the washer broke. Matag/whirlpool will not fix them as they have abandoned the parts and the model. They will replace my washer but not the dryer so after 7 months I have mismatched appliances. Do not trust Matag or whirlpool to do the right thing.
