Would you recommend changing the lifters and rockers as well? I changed my exhaust cam but still have a nasty ticking sound.

For the clients I always change them, but if you are on a budget you can reuse the old ones if they are not worn and okay.

what symptoms occur when the exhaust shafts need to be replaced?
@TheTom951guitar7 ай бұрын
All sorts, P0101 code to start with. I personally had it go into limp mode whenever I changed down gears to slow down, I assume because of the increased exhaust pressure from the worn camshaft not letting the exhaust valves open fully and keeping stuff in the engine. It leads into all sorts of other problems though. The metal bits that come off the camshaft end up blocking the vacuum pump, so you'll end up noticing braking is harder, and sometimes the turbo struggles to change between smaller and larger. Combined with the leaking injector washers causes nasty carbon gunk to block up the oil pump strainer, causing low oil pressure. All in all, a few little bits end up with just a wrecked engine if not looked after.

@iMerkkyy Why not SH01-12-440B ?
@remotaurog20 күн бұрын
@@Adam-7_7_7 Better to match it to the original part number but 440B is a higher standard of material so youd need matching parts -12 just means high standard -17 is higher standard for like racing cars.

why do they wear out?
@MrNiceGuy942 ай бұрын
material is softer on the camshaft than on the rocker arms, also the variable valve timing lobes are used more often
