@@madswansfan1 Correct, but technically it's winter, even in Darwin, they may call it the dry season but it's their winter. Shorter days, cooler nights, but because they are in the tropics the most pronounced difference between seasons is a wet summer and dry winter. As for anywhere up north inland (Katherine for example) or at a high altitude (Herberton, Queensland for example) well I'm pretty sure they'd just call it winter because they would be using heaters at night and getting out the doona.

@@jdb9388 Sure, all understood. However, these "bush bashers" become "pedestrian killers" in the cities, where traffic is much denser and more reaction time required. I'd second that - if there's any time left after Tassie Melbourne to Southeast Queensland via the coast, as slowly as time allows, would be spectacular.

Tia & Cheveyo have also done an article about 'Blueberry' on the Mazda AU website if you haven't seen it. It is logical for Mazda to do some easy advertising here! And of a course, although we loved 'Blueberry', a more suitable car for the Outback. Also don't worry, I like that new car, pristine clean engine look too!

One of the main things I like about your videos is that its always so genuine! Loving how geeked out Cheveyo is explaining about the car and how Tia's Japanese side kicked in when she bowed down saying thank you over the phone. Wishing you guys a great trip!!

Hi Tia & Cheveyo Fantastic news & so well-deserved re the vehicle. The trip sounds amazing. Just wondering if you have thought about going through Echuca on your way down to Melbourne - it's an old paddle steamer town on the Murray River. That whole area is beautiful; there are working paddle steamers & the river height variation during the year is huge as the melting snow makes it's way down there in spring. There was a great mini series made (in about the 80's I think), about the river trade, called "All the rivers run". Cheers Safe & happy travels 😊

Welcome back to Australia. I bought a Mazda 3 two years ago, new, on my retirement. I was 72 at the time, and this is the third Mazda I've owned. They're easy to drive, economical and last forever. If you haven't already bought one, get one of those single burner, self igniting butane stoves which take disposable fuel cylinders. They are usually $25 to $35 AUS. in supermarkets, camping suppliers or Bunnings, (what don't Bunnings sell?). Have fun.

Swanny! 1) The number plate is “cyg”, a cygnet is a baby swan, cygnus is the genus name. 2) This is the “swan song” to wrap-up your big circle trip. 3) You landed in Perth, on the mighty Swan River, the WA flag has a swan on it too! 4) Blueberry was a fruit, Ruby was a gem, Swanny is a bird. Good variety there. 5) If you put two Swans beak-to-beak it makes a love heart. Lol. 6) The classic black swan is mainly found in the SW and SE of Aus. The start and finish of this trip! Then again…BT-Barry is pretty awesome. Good luck, soak up the WA coast, recommend a visit to Shell Beach, 80 Mile Beach, Exmouth and Broome of course. And as many National Parks as you can. Mind the salty crocs, they’ll eat you 🐊

When you go to the supermarket, look for Golden Crumpets. You will need some butter so do it when you have access to a toaster, toast the crumpets until they’re brown on top, pop them onto a plate and add some butter. You can also add jam or Vegemite or peanut butter. Yummy! Crumpets are fun but eat them over a plate so you don’t drip melted butter on yourself. If no toaster, you can use a camping toaster that sits above some red coals.
