Banisher honestly isn't that good in a meta where the creatures are more often beaters than not. It's a lot better later on when powerful effect monsters can't beat over 1600.

I think in this serious it very much comes to him investing like 5 minutes pre recording into building and stuff and jumping in basically blind. At least that is very much the impression i get from watching progression series.

This episode has showed me that I AGREE with MBT in that reloading redoer tickets every era is dumb because they haven’t been relevant in weeks. Nothing in this series feels earned when someone loses 50 times in a row and bans a card every loss after 3 AND you have a chance to get a ban off the wheel. We could see explosive episodes like we did in the beginning but every thing is banned so you get boring playground Yugioh from season 1.

Guess its a rock and a hardplace problem, because on the first run people complained non-stop about DM staples completely messing up the series. I agree that the new wheel feels underwhelming, given the massive disparity in value.

@@619ver1 I agree with those people but they should also mitigate muting the card pool so much. GX may have had trash sets but the structure decks weren’t. Add those to the wheel or have a wheel where you can roll 1, 2, or a play set.

The ruling might be ancient, but D.D. Survivor and Poison Draw Frog don't activate when attacked and destroyed by battle face-down. I'm not sure why.

Because D.D survivor explicitly stating it has to be banished face up and i believe flipping does not equal it being face up.

@@619ver1 I don't think that's true. Cards like Mystic Swordsman with DF/Macro up and Nobleman would banish it without flipping. Could be wrong

@@ak47dragunov No clue but on that specific scenario with survivor and being banished after being flipped during the effect, there is an explicit mention off in dd survivors rule section.

It's probably similar to the reason Penguin Soldier can't save itself from death. The flip and the determination that it's destroyed by battle happen at the same time, so it's technically not face-uo when its banishment/destruction happens

It doesnt leave us dead to any monster at all scientist is at 300 and we have 15 we only die to kycoo or surviror and we know his deck is clogged with a bunch of garbage cimoooo couldve easily won that game litterally gorilla or any recruiter got us back in that one and the information of the one of scientist is worth litterally nothing to gage

Gage this season is like that kid on the playground who got one lucky SR pull out of one pack he bought at locals with a roll of pennies and rigs his shuffle to draw it every single time. Literally, if I was Cimoooo I would have thrown this EP just to ban IO. Hurting him way more than his is hurting Gage. I want better decks. They need to craft the extras they yank into useable stuff and open more packs. It's starting to get stale.

One thing that kind of bothers me about this series is that neither Alex or Gage really go too far off the competitive meta of the time. Alex isn't as bad about it as Gage is, but it just seems like they both are terrified to play anything that wasn't competitively viable. It would explain why they were both on Chaos for so long. It's ok to get experimental sometimes for a series like this.

@@covershopkid The worst Gage gets is something like Clown Control or PACMAN. Cimo will jump on something else to try to one up Gage, but it really feels like they miss out on some of the fun stuff to play Chaos or Recruiter Toolbox.

Gage quite literally does not have the deckbuilding ability to do that. Cimo does but generally doesn’t exercise it unless even he can tell things are stale - or to counter a strategy Gage has glommed onto

Realistically though, Gage now gets to pull low rarity monarchs from the tournament packs AND doesnt get a card banned. I know the wheel is broken, but this felt right for gage. He really needs to pull a couple of monarchs from the tournament packs.

Just an idea but couldn't progression series work with rotation? Like after the 3 or 5 packs the next one just bans the cards contained in the first one (reprints of a card that was precedently in rotation work as a renewal of the card). Like this you force more fun quirky and more importantly different play styles and you are not forced to watch 20 episodes of chaos... Also you can make forgotten cards shine a bit more and remove the clear advantage someone can get with a lucky opening, the worst is having something bs for only a couple episodes if you can make it work with the ever changing decks

They should just stop having free bans after 3 losses but should be every 3 losses because episodes that should be explosive or at least fair are dampened by repeat banning and ban tickets. Gage should’ve toppled Cimo with his Solemn Judgments before they got banned after one episode

@@Wiz00445 I mean, scientist is still really good at this point in the series, but you need the right targets. You need cards like dark balter, ryu senshi, dark blade the dragon knight, or thousand-eyes. Scientist represents potential repeated removal or tribute fodder and is a must answer. They don't have access to anything similar to that at this point in the series. Only thing holding it back is the low attack points, but then again Gage won't play beatdown so it doesn't matter too much.
