In regards to the viewership I think a lot of it has to do with it being a three way version with Gage and Farfa. A third person really livens things up and Gage is so funny as the glue guy.

The formula with 3 players is very good. I think the back and forth banter with 3 is better than just 2. I think 4 would be very good too

What I love about the episode is that Doug managed to win agaibst what is essentially a 2-3 weeks worth of cards using a deck that isn't even able to close games without 3 turns of passing

It truly is game changing having the third person on Saga. It honestly could just be two people playing like previous seasons and the third person is in for comedy and it'd still be great, but the fact that it's 3 players means you get some really really great variety in the decks too.

It doesnt matter what series it is, you can always count on gage paying half his lifepoints to lose the game
