--------------------
MC Serch spoke to VladTV about 3rd Base breaking up after dropping one of their biggest songs, "Pop Goes the Weasel," and how he linked up with Nas on his debut solo project, Return of the Product. Serch then explained how he helped Nas get his first record contract, which he says was one of the fairest he's seen in his career. He also detailed how he was able to get a fair publishing deal with Nas and how the Queens legend became a millionaire the first week Illmatic was released.

I’m a Jew and I should feel bad because I’m smart and have business sense? What kind of dumb racist stuff is that? Look at what MC Serch did for Nas and how Nas has repaid him. (And I’m a Nas fan also but damn!). Don’t most rappers say: “Don’t hate the player, hate the game?”. But only if it’s in their favor, huh?

@@Genethagenius Taking advantage of people is not smart business to me OK. And just because he said “ I couldn’t be the Jew benefiting from the black man .” does not mean that mean every Jew in the business world is doing this. He is saying this because he knows there are some that are doing shady business, just like I know as a black man, that there other black people in business (like Puffy) who do shady business with their own people aka “Don’t hate the player, hate the game".

Diane V + OC came up at a very cramped time talent-wise in NYC. As good as he was/is, he was never very marketable, particularly when you had the likes of Nas and Wu-Tang. For example, as good a DITC was lyrically as a collective force, they didn't sell big. I agree that Jewelz was okay, despite Premo on the boards. Word...Life has more punch. And yes, Big L bodied Dangerous.

A P most modern jews are russians. Not the real jews from the Bible. The word jew doesnt even show up in the bible until a few hundred years after it was written. Modern jews believe in jewish supremacy and that one dau everyone will be slaves to them when their messiah comes. Their messiah is the antichrist. Don’t believe me? Look it up in the Talmud and Kabbalah. The jewish books that were written after they rejected Jesus. Jesus is the butt of many jokes on TV because jews hate him and they hate Christianity.

i doubt hes annoyed they are just having a convo. he looks tired as fuck. to many people dont realize the age of some of these people and the amount of traveling they still do. i met krayzie bone once and i dont think he was high and he looked exhausted and i realized he had just traveled like 3 hours, and then i dunno how long before that so i cut my convo really short to leave him alone

Nas was only a "millionaire" in the technical sense after his first album, but wasnt seeing that money so quickly. He was still living in Queensbridge well after Illmatic dropped.
@KardiFan2000
@KardiFan2000 5 жыл бұрын
Of course. That money is an advance that can only reward you financially in the form of album sales...and it took Illmatic 2 years to go Gold, so Nas definitely didn't have that money for long.

@@KardiFan2000 both of you are wrong or didn't listen to the interview. Search said it was an album advance and not recoupble against the album and by the first week he made profit because it wasn't a huge production deal but he had high points. NAS was always smart about his contract negotiations
